I think with the internet, it seems like all sorts of genres that are ether super avant garde and experimental or just not in vogue are able to, while maybe not achieve a super dominate position in pop music and media, but they are able to find a niche audience that is enough to support bands and have a scene. I remember in like 2005 2006, all these European Death and Black Metal bands just sort of appeared and were able to develop these very strong cult followings in the US. I'm certain Glam could do the same probably at a bigger level because its more radio friendly and catchier. Though i think a reason it hasn't quite developed that level of following yet in the states is due to two reasons, very few of the New Quality European Glam bands (Crashdiet, Crazy Lixx, Hardcore Superstar) have promoted or toured here, i believe the only one to actually make touring attempts here is Vains of Jenna who in my mind aren't anything special. Second, the lack of quality Glam Bands in the States or at least ones who have gotten exposure, At this point it seems that the largest New American Glam bands are Dirty Penny and Steel Panther. DP in my opinion are the epitome of Average, Crashdiet have their own sound, Dirty Penny while they are totally fine, sound like a rather average Motley Crue wanna be band to the T. Like I said while they are perfectly fine, they will not be an American Crashdiet because they have failed to develop their own sound/identity. Steel Panther obviously are just chasing a quick buck and are willing to be a partial comedy act. If they were willing to be a bit more serious in their lyrics and do less covers, they could do alot. There are defiantly American Glam Bands with the potential to be the American Crashdiet, but they haven't reached the level of exposure that DP and SP have.

Well, the curse of mainstream are all those empty head people who just follow the trend. So, they'd definitely get on my nervs, but on the other hand, there'd be more of those who'd take it for reall and life would be one big great party! It would be nice to hear some actual music arround, for a change.
I don't know will it be that big as it was agian, but it seems like the 2010s will bring it to some nice level.

I personally would never want Glam to go mainstream again. In my opinion it was the mainstream that watered Glam down so badly in the early 90s and made it suck. If it became popular again then it would become a trend, just look at all the hardxcore kids. I kinda like the fact that Glam is kinda dead, it makes the few Glam ppl that are left really stand out. If Glam were popular again, there'd be lots of fakes. The good side is, if Glam was popular again, get ready to party!

Grunge pretty much died and I hope it fucking stays dead. Its just the me tooism of the whole thing I wouldn't like. As soon as this music fad would go away they'd latch on to something lame. Us music lovers know where its at and we've always loved this music. We aren't trend followers, I get shit on by everybody in my family and in this so called "enlightened" city of sandals and intellectuals because I like this music. Anybody who didn't love it with their soul would've given in and listened to sad sack emo shit, "indie" dance music or cRap so he wouldn't be "out of the loop". Not me I look for the people who suffer for this music and style not giving a shit what anybody thinks. Like all of us on this forum. I want to see it come back because it would be cool to actually hear and see good music played again on the radio, on TV, in clubs etc. Maybe turn some of these kids on to rock, to carry on the torch. The other side is there will be alot of band wagon people that will piss me off. Either way it would be awesome if it came back and stuck around like it did in the past for 20 plus years!"
- RockLibertyWarrior

If it came back I'd be genuinely supremely happy, and I'd probably be taking more advantage of the fact that I'm in an open relationship... I suppose as well I'd go out a lot more and the amount of new music I'd be interested in would be much higher.

"I was in my teens-20s when Glam ruled. They were great times and (unfortunately) they'll never be here again.
I FUCKING LOVE that a lot of the fans that post here seem to be in their 20s or younger! AWESOME! It means this music is still speaking(screaming) to people even though todays music industry wants you to be into rap/hip-hop or misery-metal.
The fact that you 20 & unders know these songs and groups proves that these bands don't need to come back--THEY NEVER LEFT! AND THEY'LL NEVER LEAVE!"
- SIXX-Again

They did leave in a way. If they never left, i wouldnt be the only one of my friends who knows who these bands are. I say to my friends something about like Bon Jovi or Dokken and i get, "who's Bon Jovi?" or "Who's Dokken?"
Take Jon's b-day for example. I had my principal say it over the announcy thingy, i hear the rest of my class say, "Who the hell is Jon Bon Jovi?"
WHAT THE FUCK?!?
So if glam had never left, this wouldn't be happening.

It would be sweet, like i think being THE BIGGEST might not be the best because after a while it can get watered down and if every other dude is glam cause its trendy (not cause they want to dress that way) then in my mind it looses some value(you should do it for yourself not cause its trendy). But it would be nice, cause at my school while i can show my friends and people stuff it always has to come from me, it would be nice for me to have someone i could say for example "hey Heavens Edges ST album is awsome isn't it" or "dosn't Leather Boyz with electric toys kick ass" and have them know exactly what im talking about just 5 or 10 other people. But with the internet in america i think it could come back in the way that say Brit Pop tried to revive the british invasion big but not as big as the original

either way, i think glam community has to be a pretty decent size to keep the music alive which is all that matters to me, if my band could record and play tours with the glam community now and make enough money to stay alive that would be perfect, i would rather rock out with people who have pure love for the music i dedicated my life to than a bunch of people who decided it became popular again so lets follow the trend

It came out exactly 4 DAYS before 9/11.9/11 inspired Warner Bros to stop promoting it.So it never hit most theatres. And btw the VH1 edit SUCKS.It edited all the good scenes out *ahem ahem*The only way to see it HOW WE MADE IT is to see it in a theatre (good luck unless you find a cheapo theatre) or buy the video.

Such a shame. When we wrapped that movie I was SURE it would spark a Sunset Strip renaissance.

Good question Tommy. (I like your Blingee, btw)
Hell I don't know. I think it would signify the beginning of one huge party! Bring it on, I say. It would have to be via a new wave of glam bands though. You can only sustain past glories for so long. As much as I love 80s glam there isn't a lot of mileage left in it - you can only recreate a scene for so long, and those guys have already paid their rock n roll dues. It needs the new talent to develop in such a way that it blows everything we've seen until now out of the water. As much as I like some of the newer glam bands, they don't yet have the magic that would create a new generation of superstars. That's what it would take to transform the face of popular music to one we would all appreciate. At the moment I consider Marilyn Manson to be the last great rock star. It needs someone, or multiple people with his level of enigma and star quality (I'm talking about his Antichrist superstar/Mechanical animals period) to create a new mass market glam phenomenon. Here's hoping.

If this got popular again i would be the happiest person ever. This is like the only thing i listen to. To be able to turn to MTV and there actually be a video, a good video, playing. That would be the best thing ever.
