SAMMY OWNS! Before Sammy, the DLR years, VH was just another rock band. I read somewhere, that Van Halen was a heavy metal bands. BS. VH was never a "heavy metal" band and never will be. Once Hagar joined the fold, the songs started to gain substance. I've seen Halen with both DLR and Sammy, and the Sammy shows own. I've seen DLR and Sammy do their solo gigs, and the Sammy shows own.
