I don't think any band is to old to rock, I mean that is their lively hood they should only retire if every last one of the members are six feet under!

as long as new bands keep sucking and the radio stations like hair nation and boneyard never die, age will never have a limit too rock n roll! I mean check out the stones for example, those dudes are well in their 60s and they put on a better show than most bands half their age! Sp should the question be, too young to rock? lol

Yeah dude! Anvil have been around since 1978. I was never really into them but I knew of their existence...

So I think it's time to have a long chat with your dad!
If he says he's had enough then so be it - but if it's just cos he thinks he's too old then maybe you can convince him otherwise. The Rock N'Roll spirit never truly dies

If anybody says their too old to Rock they need to see the doc Anvil. I just picked it up and I am surprised I haven't heard of this band until now. These guys are like the energizer bunny, they just keep going and going. Why success alluded them until just recently Rock god only knows. Their songs and musicianship are just plain bad ass. It is cool they finally achieved the success they so richly deserved even if it was in their fifties. Here is the trailer, this is a must for any rock fan. My dad says he's too old to rock, well I'll have to sit his long, greying haired ass down and make him watch this.

Bands such as Ratt, Alice Cooper and Meatloaf haven't aged at all it seems (or whats left of the band hasn't).
I'm glad they're still making music for us.
The scorpions also know their place and are going on one last tour before they can't do too much anymore.

Ain’t anticipating what’s to come
And I don’t need to worry ’bout the things I have not done
Long as I got rock and roll I’m forever young...

As long as you can / want to, go ahead and do it! Some examples (not necessarily glam):

Sammy Hagar - in his sixties now, still sounds as inspired as on that first Montrose album in 1973!
John Fogerty - still going strong and playing those Creedence songs with conviction (since the 1960s!)...
BB King - the man is 80 years old and still touring. He has to play sitting down, but his voice resonates as always and his guitar sings.

"I've always had a tough time debating this because I'm on both sides.
I think some bands such as (my favorite) Poison need to hang it up. They just dont look like they enjy this anymore. And their last album Hollyweird was terrible. Part of me thinks it ruins their legacy and everyone loses.
On the other hand... I'm a grown man who would probably cry if they called it quits forever, such as the rumoured Motley Crue (one more album 2011, final tour). They've been such a piece of my life that it would be sad to not have that anymore. The return of Poison in 99 and Motley Crue in 06 was great. So again, I'm on both sides." - MyOwnWay

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I don't want Motley Crue to retire!!!!!!!!!

The "classic" rockers should rock 'til they drop!!

Unless they just aren't feeling it anymore or can't physically do it anymore.

Scary rumors I've heard have Scorpions and(God, please, no!)MOTLEY CRUE talking retirement.

I think that you're never too old to rock, hell there was a little old woman who JOINED the London Punk scene at 70, and recorded an album with some stray members of the sex pistols and yowling cats (she was awesome)

As for dudes, if they stay thin, and keep up the look... then I still love em' to death (Michael Monroe is still effing beautiful IMO) even if they don't look great anymore I'd rather hear them play than not.

Some of our idols and bands are starting to get up there in age. Their either on the hill or over the hill. My dad is a studio musician now but he just won't play with the rest of his hair band because he told me its just a bunch of ridiculous old guys trying to be young. We argued. I take the position your never too old to rock, as long as you can stand, head bang, and move hands to play a instrument you can rock. Don't mind some balding or shakiness just as long as they deliver the goods music wise, what do you all think? Agree or disagree? Do you think some these guys need to hang up their snake skin boots, toss out their aqua, white washed jeans, leather pants and spandex? Get rid of their V guitars? Or you do you think they need to keep the flame and rock it till they die like me?
