Pantera rules. I dunno if I am a big fan of their 80s stuff, think it is kinda weak in some bits & quite amateur. Their best work was the 90s wth Dimebag shredding it hard on guitar & Phil's vocals especially on the Cowboys album really sounded fantastic. But as a glam band I thought they failed

Pantera, I love their 90s stuff but hate the 80s cheese. They are better suited to 90s metal cos they did it so well!

As for brothers Dimebag and Vinnie - they made an awesome combination.

I never cared for their 90s and on material but the first four Glam albums are some of my favorites.

I've never seen Pantera as a hair metal band. But it's no secret that they DID keep metal alive in the 90s & some of the 00s. I saw them twice at OzzFest and once on their own and I love their stuff, hair/glam metal or not. And I DO think it's a shame that Dimebag got shot in the head five times, cause whether he was glam or not, I liked his style and personality. He seemed like he was a fun guy. And if you saw me introduce myself a couple days ago, you know that I DO like other music. Maybe I'm not exactly glam by everyone's standards, but I do believe I am metal 'til I die!

Power Metal is arguably my favourite album of all time, definately the record I've listened to most. Phil's vocals were excellent on Power Metal and Cowboys from Hell, I guess his voice diminished somewhat from all the abuse. Vulgar Display is alright, but much of the later stuff isn't really my bag.

Terrence Lee/Glaze was an excellent frontman and went on to front Lord Tracy. I've only heard a couple of their tunes, but from what I've heard- good stuff.

Are you sure dude?

There are enough vids here that say that they were once glam/hair. Dimebag has his own signature guitars and amps. What have you got?

Pantera is one of my favorite bands. I like some of those songs. Power Metal is a pretty good album and Phil sounds damn good on it. However I still love the Pantera in the 90's. Heavy shit and I believe kept metal alive. R.I.P. Dimebag

It's not much of a secret that Pantera used to be a glamish heavy metal band in the 80s- and a damn good one at that. Just linking a few old school vids you might enjoy. Fans of Dokken, Def Leppard, Crue, Priest, etc.- this should be right up your alley!

Meet the band! (Circa 1985)

We'll Meet again (198 - IMO Their best song- Phil had joined as lead singer at this point.
