I've found out about something that may help you with your back. I learn Tai Chi at the moment. Tai Chi is great for back problems. I spoke to my teacher last night about it. He said it can certainly help, but not cure the problem. If you could find yourself a good Tai Chi teacher, and it needs to be practiced on a daily basis, it could improve your condition. But you really need to get advice from the teacher. Try it. Good luck. It made out that that tour and getting back with the band had pretty much saved him.
