Bowie is the epitome of a Goblin King, sexy and dangerous, Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) excellent as the sweet, selfish heroine and fuck, I love Jim Henson and his creatures! Esp. Ludo and Sir Didymus, super cute. Also, the screenplay was written by Terry Jones of Python fame. What a combination, too cool! Though it hasn't aged all that well (A friend of mine said to me once that the only way this film could be gayer was if it had actual men having bumsex!) it's still a huge influence on me, love the concept and the costumery, just a shining moment of my childhood.
