Hey when I was 10 I was a little butt hole to all the girls I liked, I guess it is a little boy thing because you don't know how to handle yourself. Wizard of Oz, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, what a coincidence. No wonder the song stuck in your head.

Yeah..Goodbye Yellow Brick Road!
It may be strange that I remember this, but the song reminds me of a crush I had on a girl when I was 10 years old.
Being an immature boy, I reacted to my attraction to her by harrassing her at open auditions for a musical play....which ended up getting me disqualified from the auditions(I was an ASS!)
On my way home, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road came on the radio and I couldn't get her out of my mind.

The play was(go figure)...The Wizard Of Oz...and she got a part as a munchkin, and looked great in the munchkin makeup.

...but besides my own regretful baggage, it's a great song.
And yes, I would say Elton is Glam.
Not the hard rock aspect, obviously, but more the Broadway element.

I totally would classify him as glam. I am not the biggest fan but I love "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". The man is a genius and his costumes were off the hook glitter. I also wondered the same thing when there was no thread for him, and I found this one!

His look was glam for sure. But I think only some of his music was. He certainly did set his own style. No one could accuse him of following the crowd.

omg... hahaha elton john.
Yeah i suppose HE was glam, but the music really wasn't. He does look a little silly though, haha.

Cher? I'd do her. She'd get an honest ploughing from me (i WISH i had a penis sometimes, lol)
Isn;t she like pushing 58?

I consider him glam. Funny you mention him...he opened a brand new concert hall here in KC over the weekend. I was invited to go with some friends but I have never been much into him apart from a song here and there.

So what is it about "Crocodile Rock" that doesn't do it to you like "Nothin' But A Good Time" by Poison does for you?

Actually, I agree with you. His music was ghey before he was.

Elton was never Rock n'Roll period. Even the Bay City Rollers & Racey rocked way harder than Elton.

His costumes could move him into the 'glam' circle, but don't think his music did/would. I still think the guy is very talented musician, no matter the type or label. But don't think he could be consider 'glam' anything really... poor Elton...ha ha

Yep. He was young, and could not care less about his lack of hair. He just seemed to make up for it with glitter and a large assortment of big glasses. Worked too!

For Sure!!
An overload of Glam in Fashion & Attitude!
His music was and still is commercial radio friendly pop.

Wow, look at his hair in that pic!?! Surely he was only in his mid-20's in '75?

Hell yeah! Elton was glam and in the same class as Freddie Mercury. He didn't rock as hard but was as flambouyant and outrageous.

Seems Elton has more hair today than he had in 1975

I have never heard Elton John classified as glam rock. I remember his acts in the 70s and 80s with his wild costumes. Would you classify Elton John as glam rock? Elton John is classified as classic rock, but Bon Jovi who is glam rock has also crossed over to classic rock. It will be interesting to hear what people think.
