There are some really great party bands out there, but you don't necesarilly need to write well to write a good song, if that makes sense. Motley Crue is my favorite band, but I would never say Sixx is a lyrical genius. It's really hard to pick a favorite. You hear a song that matches your mood and you know the lyrics are perfect. Then later another song matches another mood and that one's perfect. But the new "perfect" one doesn't take anything away from the one before it. Or the ones that follow.
