I listened to a couple tracks and the musics good, but i just can't get past the fact the singer (aside from the cowboy boots) has the same look as every metro kayne west wanna be 'gangsta' round where i live, also worst hair ever lol. Rest of the bands good though aside from terrible taste in sunglasses hahaha.

Okey, yesterday I watched a lot of vids (interviews, bios etc) then somehow i found this vid. There's slash who is talking about G'n'R. In 3:20 min of the vid, he said words that really upset me. I thought that Slash back in the day was pretty glam too. And Appetite for Destruction - no comment

The story on Fuck like a Beast is ... the song was originally intended to be put on the first WASP album. Blackie Lawless submitted the demo to Capitol records and the record company said NO, they wont put the song on the final cut of the record, deeming the song way to sexual in nature. The album was geared to the 14 year old to the 25 year old age range and they refused to put it on the copies shipped to music stores. WASP as well as Capitol records were under extream preasure by the PMRC at the time to ban such recordings so I think that was just an excuse by Capitol to pacify the PMRC to take the heat off them over the whole censorship thing that was hot in the early and mid 80s. Blackie wanted the song to be a single from the album and the idea of deleting it pissed him off. So a small deal was made with Music for Nations , a small recording company in England to release the song as a single on 45. So the song was put out on 45 outside the United States, the flip side is the song - Show No Mercy. But since music knows nothing about oceans or country borders copies started entering the states as an import. This is why the song is not on any WASP album. I found mine at The record Vault in San Francisco as a new record. They delt with rare and import vinyl. They closed down in the late 1980s since word got out they were selling bootlegs. Blackie Lawless has since changed his stance on Fuck like a Beast, saying he has the utmost respect for women and dosent see females as sex objects , that the song was created for stage persona only. His band dosent even perform the song in concert.

In 1985 Wendy O Williams had just left The Plasmatics and on her own solo career recorded W.O.W. , her first solo album. Wendy was everywhere, I think I even saw her on the Today show here in America. WOW was her biggest album. She was cast in the cult film Reform School Girls , she didnt like it but it is what it is. Her song Its My Life is on the films soundtrack even. While the album was big it was made into a picture disc. I have the stock album here somewhere but the picture disc is another rare one so I had to buy it. I got the record new in 1985. Ive never actually played it , the sound quality isnt so good since the ink is in the grooves and every time picture discs get played the quality of the sound gets worse. Wendy was into shock value, famous for sporting mohawks, blowing up equipment at her concerts , going out pretty much completely naked. Wendys later records didnt do so well, Kommander of Kaos and Deffest and Baddest were flops. Wendy killed herself in 1998 so shes gone but never forgotton.

Like so many rock albums of the 80s, alot have long since gone OOP ( Out of Print ) so you need to hit used record stores, garage sales, rummage sales or find the vinyl on ebay. For example your Autograph record isnt made anymore since the band dosent and hasnt existed for over 20 years now. The album you have , stil;l sealed after all these years is nothing short of rare. Unfourtinately the band faded away and theres really no demand for their work. But what the heell you know, if you like the music its worth keeping. I have the 45 here somewhere for Turn up the Radio from them. I still listen to it from time to time. They were great when I watched them open for Van halen even. But that was in 1984. That was along time ago.

Look for Crue's Too Fast for Love on LEATHUR records, not the electra label. When the band was first starting out Leathur records was their name for the demo turned into electra once they were first signed to the label. After the band was signed the band sent a few thousand copies of the original Too Fast for Love to record stores while the Electra version was being mixed and produced. Then the electra version was shipped thus ending the Leathur versions run. Copies of this are still floating around out there but you wont find it at any garage sale or rummage sales. People know what it is and know what its worth. Crue is still a marketable and profitable band so the demand for this is still there. It comes up on ebay from time to time but myself, I tend to stay away from album buying on ebay. They go through too many hands before you get it, more likely to get a broken record in shipping or get one thats scratched to hell.

The original cover for Appatite for Destruction is another must find. The cover with the rape scene was banned from the stores in late 1987 almost the day they hit record stores. They changed the cover to axls tattoo of the skulls/cross. Original pressings of the rape scene cover came with a Guns n Roses window cling. Also the 45s from the band were shaped. The 45 for Paradise City was shaped like a gun. You played it at 45 speed and the flip side was Knockjin on Heavens Door. The 45 for Mr Brownstone was shaped like a suitcase.

The cover for Bon Jovis Slippery when Wet was also changed. The original cover showed a womans body with the yellow Slippery when Wet shirt ... torn showing a womans nipple. it was changed to the water streak cover you see today. look for it if your into rare vinyl.

Poison changed the cover for Open Up and Say ... Ahhhh. Ive never liked Poison so I never bought it. Ive seen it a few times and thought about it tho.

I got Mary Wilson of the Suprimes to sign this one for me, To my Mr Nobody Mary Wilson. I just happened on her at a record store one day, bought this record and had her sign it.

Kiss has 2 different covers for their Creatures of the Night album. Funny how Avce Frehley didnt play on the record, but on the original cover hes in the picture.

I know I put this in the Lita Ford thread but it works here too. Lita Fords album, the first after The Runaways split up, Out for Blood was also changed.

heres the original Lita Ford Out for Blood album cover which was released in 1983.

Heres the altered cover for the very same album.

Out for Blood has long gone out of print, since shes since left Mercury records and shes not in very high demand. I found my copies cheap. So they are still out there.

WASP's Animal ***k like a Beast is another scarce record. Its out there used but I bought mine new.

Picture discs are another scarce relic from the 80s. This Wendy O Williams WOW album on picture disc is not altered in the mixing like alot of reissues have been. I bought it new also when Wendy O was big, around 1985.

Hey, what can you say The Beatles never go out of style. Theres 3 different covers for the bands Yesterday and Today album. Id have been stupid not to buy the original. Even if the money was batshit crazy stupid for it.

The hobby gets expensiive. I started back in the 80s and still buy records when I can. The original guns n roses appatite for destruction cover. Motleys Leathur pressing of Too Fast fo Love, both issues of Lita Fords Out for Blood, the original cover for Bon Jovis Slippery when wet , Live like a sucide by guns n roses. There's a lot of limited issue vinyl out there. If you can afford it.

The most I've ever paid was 5000 usd for an autographed Butcher cover by the beatles. That was extream.

I found Autograph's Sigh Here Please still wrapped so I bought that one for sure.

"rap is crap and so are its so called fans...nuff said"
- metalrulesall

Millions were spending $300 and over to see eminem in concert. and that goes for other crap of today like lady gaygay, and usher. For acdc and alice cooper I spent only $140 and got front rows.

The fans are the main reason why music and other things are they way they are fucked today. Perhaps if they didn't let themselves be brainwashed to support and buy all their shit cd's and tickets, we wouldn't have to live in such messed up world. I'm sick of people telling me, "ohh it's just music. Music can't hurt you."

Back then parents thought Elvis was too sexual and bands like Led Zeppelin and KISS were giving satanic messages to children, who were only singing about rock n roll all nite, party everyday, having a great time, forgetting troubles. The costumes were just a gimmick and didn't necessarily mean anything harmful. But now that we have rap and pop videos of shooting, sex, killing, bitching, violent breakups, etc. nobody is protesting against it and they let their children grow up with that shit.

If I ever have kids, I'll make sure they never have to listen to that crap and grow up with low self-esteem, self-conscious, etc.

I could keep writing all day about how society is fucked but I better stop because I'll go overboard. I'm listening to some Motley Crue instead!!
