Ok, so I'm going to my third Poison and my second Cruefest this summer, and was wondering, What has everybody else seen or who are they going to see? I'm not expecting a million people to veiw this thread. So if you do, great go ahead and share. If some people don't, not really a problem.

Kewl. Poison last year came with Sebastian Bach and Dokken. Age has not been kind to Dokken. They, well, kinda sucked. Sebastian on the other hand stole the show and could've countered Poison.

AWESOME!!! I've always wanted to see AC/DC in concert. Were they good? Aerosmith ROCKS btw.

KEWL!! Foxx that's awesome! How was the show?

The AC/DC concert waz so badass
In the last song, "For those about to rock, we salute you," there were cannons shooting toward the end of the song making me real deaf after the concert!
Angus young improvised for 15 minutes a solo and everything
They still have so much energy
And I'm really looking forward 2 going 2 Aerosmith
They r my fave band in the whole world

I've been to quite a few concerts in the last 6 years. My favorite ones had to be seeing George Lynch live since he is one of my favorites, as well as traveling with friends to see the Scorpions, Whitesnake and Dokken. I also really enjoyed seeing Motley Crue on the Carnival of Sins tour and seeing Steve Vai live was great. If anyone hasn't seen Vai live I really recommend seeing him. The one band that I have not seen yet is W.A.S.P. They've come to Cleveland twice that I know of and I've missed them both times thanks to friends backing out on me.

Impressive list, JD! I've lost count of the shows I've been to over the past 20 years... My first was W.A.S.P. in Cardiff when I was 16, and from thereon I was obsessed with going to gigs. I moved to London in 1990 which immediately upped the number of shows on offer... The band I've seen most is my beloved Dogs D'amour, seen them more times than I can recall

Mind you, festivals like Rocklahoma can knock down quite a few bands at a time…

I did not realize how many I have hit until I sat down to respond to this forum. I even left off a bunch of opening bands that I either don’t remember or are kind of irrelevant/not well known (like Baby Animals, a band out of Australia that opened for Van Hagar back in ’92, or Seven Mary Three who opened for Aerosmith in ’97…I remember kind of liking 7MT, but remember nothing else).

On the topic of opening bands, can anyone tell me who opened for KISS in ’97 (Fargo, ND leg)? I can’t remember and have done a couple of searches with zero luck.

Sshhh...... I don't wanna hear things like that! :-)
It was definitely the best show I ever saw and part of a debauched lost weekend in London when I was 17. I'm smiling just thinking of it!
The Dogs were such a massive part of my later teenage years, so many of my memories from that time are wrapped up in Dogs stuff. And live, in my opinion, they were peerless - often imitated, never bettered!

    Dude how was Violent Femmes?"
    - Pretty_Boy_Catt

I saw the Violent Femmes in a small venue in Fargo, ND. I was nervous about seem them, because I knew a little bit about their 'religious' turning. The show was amazing. The Violent Femmes is one band I would recommend to anybody who has a little bit of a musical pulse.

Before the show I owned 3 of their albums. I was so impressed with the 'other' stuff that I have even slowly started picking up the 'God' CDs.

"There are more, but this is what I recall off the top of my head:
    Dee Snyder's Widowmaker

Mr. Scary, I am so jealous that you got to see Widowmaker. Blood and Bullets (1992) is one of my 4 favorite albums that is not well known. Their 2nd album, Stand by for Pain is a dud...so stay away.

My other favorite not so well known albums are:

Life Sex Death (LSD) - The Silent Majority (1992)

A great band out of Chicago. The lead singer (Stanley) acted like a bum with schizophrenia....but don't let that scare you away from this gem of an album. EVERY PERSON I have shown this album to loves it. Even if they don’t buy the CD, they remember multiple songs from it in just a couple of listens (i.e. Farm Song, Fuckin’ Shit Ass, and Big Black Bush). The lyrics have a wide array of meanings covering every spectrums from deep to superficial (guess what Big Black Bush is about? ;-) ). 2 of their videos even showed up on Beavis and Butthead. “These guys ROCK”- Quote Butthead…What more can I say!?

Mötley Crüe - Mötley Crüe (1994)

The John Corabi album. Vince Neil was being Vince and the band needed to walk away from him (for just a few years it turns out). So they needed a new lead singer and thus walked in John Corabi (former Scream lead singer). This is one of my favorite Crue albums of all time. I really wish there could exist a Neil Crew and a Corabi Crew. Corabi brings a singing style (rougher in some spots and more tender in others) that Vince clearly does not have (and remember, I love Vince as Motley’s lead singer). To understand what I am talking about, listen to Corabi do “Don’t Go Away Mad” live. I think when Mick and Nikki wrote this song, they meant it for a singer like John. I really have a hard time listening to Vince’s original version after catching John do it live just once.

Mind Bomb - Mind Bomb (1993)

Another good Chicago band. Matt Mercado (the dude who put Mind Bomb together) is apparently some kind of freaky super song writer. The first time I listened to their demo tape (which I caught at one of their concerts) reminds me of the first time I listened to Faith No More’s-The Real Thing album, Nine Inch Nail’s Pretty Hate Machine album, Aerosmith’s song Sweet Emotion, or Eddie Van Halen’s Eruption. It was an experience that forever changed what I thought of music. Here is a quote I am stealing from a review of the album on Amazon, “I own a few thousand cds spanning mostly rock, pop, and metal from the 70s to the present. This is the best one... no lie. … You get infusions of techno, punk, pop, funk, folk... its almost like a summation of all melodic music wrapped up in a metal base.” I won’t go so far as this being the best album I own, but it is one of my favorites. Matt apparently can’t or won’t keep a band together, so he keeps creating new bands, that all sound great. Daisy Chain, Supermarcado, and Pivotman are a few more bands that I am aware of that he has created. One of my favorite song lyrics even come from Mind Bomb’s song Do You Need Some, “What a wonderful world this would be…if you just listened to me!”

Sorry for writing so much. I just got exited about Widowmaker and my mind led to this mini article. Maybe this should be a new topic?
