I liked him better with Black Sabbath, just like I liked Brian May better with Queen. Bands usually work well off each other because they are familiar...solo artists, although very good, have to employ a backup band which can and usually does change.

I love Sabbath but I really enjoy Ozzy's work since he left Sabbath much more. I rarely listen to Sabbath but I listen to some Ozzy everyday.

ozzy is sooo much better as a solo artist....but he did how ever get his start with sabbath

Black Sabbath, and when ever I hear Ozzy's "solo" stuff, I think "this band would be so much better with another vocalist".

I think Ozzy was best with Sabbath. And to answer your question metalrulesall, Ozzy answered an ad Tony Iommi put in the paper in Liverpool, England looking for a new singer. When he heard the response, he said, "I know an Ozzy, but this can't be him!" He didn't want Ozzy because he used to bully Ozzy in school and he hated him. Bill Ward talked him into giving Ozzy a try and the rest is history. Did you know Ace Frehley answered an ad in NY's The Voice when he joined KISS? True story, so kiddies...stay focused on the want ads....you could be the next cog in the next big band.

I'd have to say their two different things for me. Black Sabbath with Ozzy was really awesome and had a different feel to it. His solo stuff is great but that has a different vibe about it but both of his bands were and still are awesome!
