I got into glam when I was 12 years old, but I was fed up on all 50's, 60's and 70's rock n roll and blues by my cool dad. So, when I first listened to Bon Jovi's "Livin on a Prayer", it was love at first sight. Then I discovered lots of other, incredible bands, such as Guns n Roses or Kiss.

For me it was actually when i watched the movie A Nightmare On Elm St. 3 Dream Warriors and i loved the song at the end of the movie, it was so catchy and i wondered, what is this!
then i saw, Dokken! this band got me into the whole scene and then i just discovered more and more bands.
so thanks Freddy Krueger and Dokken! :)

I was just hanging at downtown and saw people in front of one club, waiting to get inside. They had this huge "HANOI ROCKS" -'flag kind of thing' and they seemed to have lots of fun there. I kept looking at them and wondered that "Who are these people? They look so cool."

At home I started to search information about Hanoi Rocks and then I listened their song Tragedy and I was like "FDASGSAGDSAGSDA RAWWWRRRR ???" and that's how it all started.

I was introduced into music by Sweet and Marc Bolan. Later on all the glamrock acts of the 70's. I've always stayed a glamrocker of de 70's era...not the later periods (80's...)

Both my parents were full on 80's Rockers...
So I grew up with their music tastes (Motley, Bowie, Roth, Wolfsbane, Stranglers etc.) and pretty much
Fell in love with it, all my friends say I should have been born about 20 years before I was, 'cause I was the '80's reject in school' and currently now in college. 8)

My mom bought a Motley Crue CD, the 20th Century Masters Collection CD. I listened to it and fell in love with them. ^-^ 80's metal, since that fateful day, has been a favorite genre of music for me. After Crue I started listening to Poison, Ratt, Def Leppard, Dokken, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, stuff like that.

he once told me to download "Hysteria" the Def Leppard's Album... and i did but i never heard it.
When we broke up i was deleting trash from my pc and i found the album.. and i decided to listen it. best decision in my life... from that day i never stopped listening to glam !! rock on :D

For me it was all about rock stars who LOOKED like stars, who lived the lifestyle. I've loved Bowie since I was old enough to think and, being a teenager in the 80s, many of our beloved bands offered the same aesthetic. Also, growing up in wet, grey south Wales, they offered an element of escapism... That, and awesome tunes and hot boys in makeup!

I may be the 'wrong' side of 30 but at least I can console myself with the knowledge that the soundtrack of my youth rocked! :-)

I got into glam as a kid when I got some money from my mom to by a album and I picked the album with the coolest cover and that was Appetite for Destruction. After that I was in love with that kind of music.

I got into it probably just roaming around in my dad's holden sandman panel van with Sweet, AC/DC, Gary Glitter, and other shit pumping out of the stereo.
I don't recall liking it too much at the time but I guess it grew on me.
