I'm sure everyone has come across this, You buy a cd and most of it is good, but there are just a couple of songs on there that totally suck:

    Here are some of mine:
    Poison--Bad To Be Good
    Guns N Roses--My World
    --You're Crazy (Alt. Version)
    Metallica--Escape
    W.A.S.P.--Mantronic
    Slayer--Crionics
    Hardening Of The Arteries
    Necrophobic
    Epidemic
    Testament--Raging Waters
    Bon Jovi--Ride Cowboy Ride

all I can think of for now

I'm the guy on the right in the picture, 100% pure grade-a kick-ass 80's rocker, this is what it's all about!!

Hate to say it folks, but almost all CD's have at least a little filler. While most of the filler is only harmless empty fluff, some can kill the whole freaking flow for the rest of the album! While I can't think of any examples of the latter off the top of my head, it's becoming even more common these days. Also on the other end of things, have you ever bought an album that sucked except for the 1 or 2 "hit" songs which are what you hoped the rest would sound like?

Queen: "I'm In Love With My Car" written by Roger Taylor.
    I always hated that song.

Back in the old days before cds we had albums. You had to turn the album over to play the other side. It seems like most albums had a good side and a bad side. But the bad side usually had 1 or 2 good songs on it. I always hated having to turn it over to listen to those 1 or 2 songs. Most of the time I just did without listening to them. At least now with cds you can skip past the ones you don't care for without missing the rest.

I do not like ballads...so in general I skip those on any CD and go on the next song.

There are a lot of CDs I skip songs on.

    There are a few I don't, however:

    Two's "Vouyer"
Judas Priest's "Hell Bent For Leather" (also known as "Killing Machine" across the Pond)
    Sweet's "Love Is Like Oxygen"

..... there are others... but..... like I don't remember....

I'll list the songs from my favorite band's discs:

From "Too Fast For Love" - I don't like "Come On and Dance".

From "Shout At The Devil" - Nothing. I love the entire album!

From "Theatre of Pain" - I don't like "Smokin' In The Boys Room".

From "Girls, Girls, Girls" - I don't like "Bad Boy Boogie"...esp. that STUPID TITLE!!!

From "Dr. Feelgood" - I don't like "Rattlesnake Shake".

From "Motley Crue" - I don't like "Droppin' Like Flies"

From "Generation Swine" - I don't like "Rocketship"... Sorry, Nikki...

From "New Tattoo" - I don't like THE ENTIRE ALBUM!!! My least favorite Crue album! UNLISTENABLE!! The title track is moderately listenable, but I never seek it out.

From "S.O.L.A." - This one is a let-down for me, too. Problem #1: Basically all the songs are written by Sixx A.M. -- not Motley Crue! Problem #2: No Bob Rock producing. It's like Def Leppard without Mutt. Not the same.

Last two New SONGS I liked from the Crue were "If I Die Tomorrow" & "Sick Love Song" -- both Bob Rock produced.

"Saints..." is no "New Tattoo" -- but the Crue have rarely let me down and these two records were MAJOR LET-DOWNS!!

I totally agree with you on those 2 Crue albums man, very dissapointing, especially SOLA.

Reach For The Sky by Ratt:
I Want A Woman (a rather boring and dull song from them)

Shame, I like all of "Reach For The Sky" although I'm not a big RATT fan.

    Anyway here are some digs:

A couple of CD bonus tracks that don't fit with the rest of the album:

    Bonfire - Fireworks
Slaughter - Stick It To Ya
    Vixen - Vixen

    Doro/Warlock tracks with German vocals.

Some long and boring intros and fillers on Extreme's "Ponograffiti".

50% of "All Systems Go" by Vinnie Vincent Invasion. The good tracks more than compensate :)

The later half of the first Badlands album.

Most of the first three Motley Crue albums - Sorry dudes I'm a "Girls Girls Girls" and "Dr. Feelgood" fan! Those albums are 100% playable in my world

100% of "Wake up Screaming" by EMN.

    More to follow...

I think the problem with "Wake Up Screaming" is the simple fact that I picked it up years after release expecting it to be as infexious as the debut. I'm gonna give it another chance as It's still on my shelf :)

I'll let you know what I think in a couple of days...

I was disappointed with Wake Up Screaming too. Ive tried listening to it several times hoping it would grow on me after a few listens, but I dont think it even comes close to their debut album.

I agree that Motley's New Tattoo sucked but I dont know why SOLA is so unpopular? I dont think there's a bad song on it.
