At my age I thought I knew a lot about glam rock, but, thanks to all you crazy rockers on Glamrock.com, I'm finding that there's more to learn & discover.

So let's give this a try: I'll recommend a glam song you may or may not have heard and you return the favor. Let's help each other discover all the glam rock music(old or new) worth listening to. The B sides, the songs that should've been big, the little known treasures...

If you can, post a sample/or YouTube vid as well that would be great!

    I'm kicking this off with:

"Rock & Roll Party In The Streets" - AXE

    and

"Bitch is Back" - L.A. GUNS

Damn, Retroman! :D Took me a while to sample that list! Knew some, but not all. Thanks for schooling me.

Didn't know about "Temptation" from Y&T either. Very cool tune.

    See if you know these:

"THAT TIME OF YEAR" - VINNIE VINCENT INVASION

    "MAD ABOUT YOU" - SLAUGHTER
(This one should've been the big hit off "Stick It To Ya". I always liked it better than "Up All Night")

Cheers SIXX-Again those two songs you posted are fucking tops! I had them at time of release but I'm sure plenty of members on this site don't know 'em!

I've recommended enough for now :) So what did you discover from my list?

LOL, Retroman and his pre-prepared speeches and compilations.

    'Overkill #555' - classic!

I'll stick this one in here - its a new band on the street but man I like them. They're the Hell City Glamours, with White Trash, Hot Love. (To me that title's remiscent of White Light/White Heat)

I'm recommending a couple from the under-appreciated Corabi Crue album. I know it's not Vince! But that album has some of Motley Crue's best songs:

"MISUNDERSTOOD" (one of my top ten favorite Crue songs)

    "DRIFT AWAY"

Most of the bands that were listed I already know about but it made me want to re listen to what ever I haven't listened too in a while. I have been resistant to listen to Corabi era Crue for the fact it isn't Vince, but maybe I should give it a try. I am going to post a vid of a band probably everybody knows about, these guys are severely under-appreciated which is the reason why I am posting the vid.

RockLibertyWarrior, I can't get your video to play here in Dallas...Who was it so I can go on YouTube & check it out.

Salem's Alleycat Scratch was bad ass! Never heard of them. I will definitely look into them.

**It doesn't matter if it's a mainstream band or little known band. I meant for this to be a way for us to recommend what we like and vice versa -- I've seen a few people here post that they aren't major fans of the Crue or Warrant, etc. Maybe somebody'll recommend some tunes that could change their minds...

KEEP RECOMMENDATIONS COMING! KNOWN OR LITTLE-KNOWN BANDS! IT'S ALL GOOD!! 8)

Dallas! You'll know this band then! Dangerous Toys "Teasin' Pleasin" those guys just don't get enough fucking cred at all. Their like one of my favorite hair metal bands and I don't hear them discussed quite as much as Crue, Roses, Poison etc. That just ain't right! God damn youtube, its done it before, copy right violation I guess...

What about this nasty little gem. These guys came at the tail end of the hair metal era making fun of the name Pretty Boy Floyd. Used to great effect in Wayne's World. I can't post the official vid because it won't show so I'll have to go with a inferior live version which is OK I guess.

These 2 awesome bands almost look like twins but are definitely worth a listen....

Poison's I Want Action sounds like a rip-off of that Easy Action song.

Another band for you their more glam punk. The Lords of the New Church. They played the glam band the Blender Children in the classic 80's movie that lampooned the music video industry, the movie is called "Tapeheads". All these guys are former members of punk bands like the Damned and Deadboys. The lead singer was best friends with Micheal Monroe of Hanoi Rocks and The Lords used to tour with them. I tried to find a adequate video of their song from the movie, it was called Mr. MX-7 but all I found was this one. Its pretty cool though.

Dangerous Toys are great,RockLiberty! I always liked this one:

**HELL YEAH! Lords of the New Church! "Method to My Madness" & "Open Your Eyes" are my equal favorites from them!

**Thiez's current bands: Damn! I had no idea they existed! That's what's wrong with the music industry these days...All these great rock bands are out there, keeping glam rock alive, and the only thing that gets exposure of any kind is rap, Nickelback-esque rock, bimbo dance pop & macho-metal! Thanks for returning my hopes for the future of glam metal, Thiez!
