Got my hands on Use Your Illusion Tour DvD a couple of years ago and i invited my sister over and we watched the show and drank some beers. It was so awsome to see Guns N Roses doing their thing on stage

No, I was like 6 then.
I discovered GNR much later than 1997.
Sorry if I was a bit confusing.
GNR has had so many line-ups of people, I can't keep track.
What I'd REALLY like to see is the line up of
Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, Steven.
Or Hollywood Rose! OMG! Has anyone heard them?
It was Axl's band before Guns N Roses, they were fabulous.

And yeah Sleaze- I always love watching GNR concerts.
I have a DVD with all their music videos and some songs live.
If you go on YouTube and search, "Guns N Roses Ritz"
they have the best videos.
I can HARDLY contain myself when watching the Welcome To the Jungle one.

Axl Rose and his backing band (trying to pass off as GNR) toured here last year. Sebastian Bach and his backing band also came in support.

Bas was billed as 'Sebastian Bach & band' which is coroect as there was no other members of Skid Row. Whereas Axl is trying to pass off a bunch of Nobody's as GNR!! The band was technically perfect, but it was just Axl and a backing band. A bit like karaoke, really. Axl actually sounded a lot better than what I was expecting, but Bas well and truly kicked his ass!

If anyone should be calling themselves GNR, it shoud be Slash as his band has 3 ex-GNR members in it!! But VR have cancelled all their current touring and recording commitments and it is likely VR will be splitting up due to that loser reject from the 90's Scott Weilland's continuing drug habits and his convictions...So now rumour has it that Slash & Axl might be collaborating again.....

Stay tuned....

i've been waiting since September to figure out what a song was...and purely by coincidence i was downloading some GnR tracks...and found it...now i can relax. i only remembered very few lyrics, mainly cos i was focusing not on the song playing but the guitarist who kept popping on and off the stage...it was background noise on the radio to me really...and at long last, i can say that i was listening to 'Paradise City'..lol

speaking of Scott Weiland and his drug habits......any self respecting doper shoulda been smarter than to try and cop his own shit!

(pardon my slip into Ebonics here).

KISS kicked weiland amd company off a tour after that little busted fiasco.

Heroin is a stupid stupid drug but folks still get hooked on it.

I'm no saint but thank heavens I never tried it!

Yep, that's for sure. The band is as tight as can be. There is 7, yes seven of them upon stage recreating the sound of GnR. Almost just like the CD, which kinda loses that whole 'live' feel we are used to from glam bands. So if you're talking about 'musicianship' yes, Axl is the weakest link for sure.

I try not to judge people....but theres something about a domestic violence rap (anyone else remember the "assault with a winebottle" rap Axl got with a former girlfriend) that I find patently offensive.....waaaaay moreso than drugs.

It detracts from his talent.I liked Apetite For Destruction.....but not much of the other stuff unless songs slip my mind....(not impossible...)

And it is because of that incident in the 90's when Gene booted STP off that tour, that I kind of knew Slash made the wrong decision in choosing his VR line up.

Are you serious? VR might be splitting up before they get to make another album? That really sucks, I loved their stuff. Poor Slash, he always seems to get fucked over. He's got so much talent, but he gets screwed by singers everywhere he turns! I'd hate to see him go back to Axl to get abused again, he had no say in GnR and he's the most well known member of it at this point. But the man just wants a steady band, I couldn't really blame him if he decided to join up again.

GnR is just awesome, Appetite for Destruction was IMO one of the greatest rock albums ever. Slash may not have liked Sweet Child o mine, LOL, but man that song just flat out jams.

I love Axl and I'll always support him no matter what!!
Everyone tells me that he's crazy and violent and blah blah blah...
and I'm like, Yeah, we'd get along great!!! Lol.
But you gotta hand it to him for trying.
As much as I dislike the new "Guns N Roses," I'm with ya Axl!!!!
And as for Velvet Revolver, they were how I got into Guns N Roses.
I used to love them, but then I heard GNR and I was like, WOW!
Velvet Revolver has amazing musicians (well DUH Slash and Duff are in it!!)
I have so much respect for VR, I think they're doing a great job.
But thinking about it now, they just don't compare to Guns N Roses.
It was not Slash that made Guns N Roses - it was all of them!
They were, in my opinion, the best band ever.
Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Steven were the best combination,
and it's obvious because of how famous they got.
But you just can't have that much fame and no complications.
Most of the really great bands break up, and then when they go to other bands,
it's just not the same, because the other band members are missing,
it's just not the whole package if you know what I mean.

I agree with velvetangel. I love the old Gunners line-up and Velvet Revolver as well. I don't usually go for rumors. They're crap. I also have no idea what's up with Chinese Democracy, and don't care for the new G'n'R lineup. I mean, I watched that MTV awards just so I could see Gunners and Axl doesn't look like Axl. And there's a guy with a KFC bucket on his head. And he (Axl) couldn't reach the high notes he used to. Is "Buckethead" supposed to be the "new Slash"? Like a funky nickname for a guy equals Slash on guitar? I. Don't. Think. So.

When I watched one of the vids with Baz and Axl's new band (sorry, it isn't gnr) I was very disappointed. Axl doesn't have the vocals there any more. And WHAT is with the hair?!? Baz looks like he has been drinking formaldehyde. I read a quote, don't remember where. . . with Slash. When Baz auditioned for VR he commented that it just made them sound like "SkidRoses". Might have been interesting. . . .
