With all the women on here I am surprised that there r not more threads about female rockers on here.I'm a child of the 80's and women like Joan Jett and Pat Banater and Cyndi lauper were a very strong influence, this women are my idols and have helped me to grow in to a stronger woman.I wish the girls in the music world today had half the balls and morals that they had.then I would not have to worry about the shit my daughter will be listening to.

Totally agree there are many fine musicians within glam and rock that are female. Bandz such as Jaded Lady,Vixen,Hardly Dangerous,Ringling Sisters to name some and strong front women such as Lorraine Lewis (Femme Fatale),Sally Cato (Smashed Gladys) and Lita Ford.

Lorraine Lewis, Lita Ford and Doro Pesch are my holy trinity.

Pat Benatar was pretty ace, I love in the Love is a Battlefield clip how she does that big dance at her bad ass man... crack up.

And I would like to mention one of my all-time favorite bands, regardless of genders, HEART. What a long history the Wilson sisters have and all the great songs they have put out over the years! I know they don't really fall into the glam/hair metal category, but Heart rocks!

I love HEART! They were great role models for the glamgirls growing up. I think you can see plenty of glam elements in this vid of Barracuda from 1977. . . .

I love Lita Ford, she rocks and she is absolutely beautiful. Of course Joan Jett, she looks like she could eat knives for breakfast she plain just tears it up! I love the Runaways, I just fell in love with those girls when I heard "Cherry Bomb" and I have always looked for girlfriend material that personifies that song. Heart of course and Doro.

Rocker girls rock... I swear I have a fetish for angry women with musical instruments... Kathleen Hanna and Amanda Palmer are like the hottest thing ever if you ask me. Joan Jett's still sexy too.

I really appreciate females in music, I love that there are guys out there who appreciate it when girls can rock out with their twats out *grin*

The women rockers were very talented. Some of them were a lot better than others. But that was the good thing about the 80s, the women were talented and the men were talented. The 80s had a variety of men and women rockers, unlike todays' metal scenewich is made up of mainly guys wich sucks! All though I am a guy I think that the women rockers need a come back and I don't mean the bullshit ones that are in the industrial and emo scenes. I mean the kind that really have talent like Lita Ford,Vixen,Femme Fatle,Joan Jet,Doro, and Wendy O Williams. Why aren't women inspired by them for a change instead of todays' music scene?
