    They were kinda fucked up.

You see, they rocked sort of, looked Ok sort of (except those fucking beards), had pink instruments (but they were violins) and they filled a void in the late 70s when glam rock was fucked over and glam metal wasn't there yet.

So you, they were kinda fucked up but in a good way :P

ELO is excellent, but anyone who thinks they sound 50's obviously does not know what music from the 50's sounded like.

I agree completely BM. yes they certainly had elements of 50's music in there, as was there classical overtones and 60's influences as well, but the synth stuff they also used was deffo 70's and beyond.

The main thing about their stuff is that its stood the test of time. Not many artists or bands can say that.

Love ELO, one of the first symphonic rock bands if you discount Emerson, Lake and Palmer. They have a lot of catchy good songs, yeah it's pop but in a good creative way. Most of glam has a huge pop element in it, I am not against pop, I just want it to be good, what the creators intended the song to be, rocking and not manufactured in some record company, cookie cutter assembly line. ELO fits this category, creative, catchy, good rock pop music.

E.L.O. is awesome! They evolved out of The Move (even more awesome!) and spun off Wizzard and Roy Wood-total musical genius!
