It's really hard to pick an overall favorite. It seems like every band had at least one or two songs with absolutely perfect lyrics. But I guess overall I'd have to say Bon Jovi.

This is a tough one. It's really hard to pick a favorite. You hear a song that matches your mood and you know the lyrics are perfect. Then later another song matches another mood and that one's perfect. But the new "perfect" one doesn't take anything away from the one before it. Or the ones that follow.

Glam is all about fun and a good time.
A lot of Poison songs celebrate just that!

I agree with Stanley.
I love Crue's lyrics as they are just dirty and fun. As are most glam bands lyrics.
I did get a crue lyric tattooed on my back /butt: "Glitter shines forever". Why? just because it's a lovely song

You can always count of Bon Jovi putting out good lyrics. Their songs were always upbeat, catchy and infectious. The lyrics weren't bad either :
Bad Medicine One of my favorites :
I ain't got a fever got a permanent disease
It'll take more than a doctor to prescribe a remedy
I got lots of money but it isn't what I need
Gonna take more than a shot to get this poison out of me
I got all the symptoms count 'em 1,2,3First you need
That's what you get for falling in love
Then you bleed
You get a little but it's never enough
On your knees
That's what you get for falling in love
And now this boy's addicted cause your kiss is the drugYour love is like bad madicine
Bad medicine is what I need
Shake it up, just like bad madicine
There ain't no doctor that can
Cure my diseaseBad, bad medicine
Bad, bad medicineI don't need no needle
To be giving me a thrill
And I don't need no anesthesia
Or a nurse to bring a pill
I got a dirty down addiction
It doesn't leave a track
I got a jone for your affection
Like a monkey on my backThere ain't no paramedic
Gonna save this heart attackWhen you need
That's what you get for falling in love
Then you bleed
You get a little but it's never enough
On your knees
That's what you get for falling in love
Now I'm addicted and your kiss is the drugYour love is like bad madicine
Bad medicine is what I need
Shake it up, just like bad madicine
So let's play doctor, baby
Cure my diseaseBad, bad medicine
Bad, bad medicine[Solo]
I need a respirator cause I'm running out of breath
You're an all night generator wrapped is stockings and a dress
When you find your medicine you take what you can get
Cause if there's something better baby well thay haven't found it yetYour love is like bad madicine
Bad medicine is what I need
Shake it up, just like bad madicine
There ain't no doctor that can
Cure my diseaseYour love is like bad madicine
Bad medicine is what I need
Shake it up, just like bad madicine
Your love's the potion that
Can cure my diseaseBad, bad medicine

When it comes to actually writing songs really well and the use of good poetry and metaphors, I would definately go with Bon Jovi and Cinderella. There are some really great party bands out there, but you don't necesarilly need to write well to write a good song, if that makes sense. Motley Crue is my favorite band, but I would never say Sixx is a lyrical genius. Bon Jovi hits me hard when it comes to lyrics, though, and Cinderella is just freaking wonderful.

Sixx writes amazing lovesongs. People tend to get blindsided by all the tits and arse. I'd love to be loved like in a Motley Crue song. Without You gives me chills, and Glitter is freaking excellent... Then again, I'd liked to be sexed like in a Crue song too! Pretty sticky sweet
"Personally monsieur," said Poirot, "I don't give le fuck."
You shouldn't talk to me. Find better company. There's better people to know. You'll only end up like Rimbaud. Get shot by Verlaine...Posted 4 years ago # -
Skid Row, even tho jon bon jovi wrote 18 and Life

Vince Neil did the best lyrics in my book... All the way from "Too fast for love" through his career. That whole dark trip on "Shout at the Devil" used to scare me when I was in Junior High, but I really liked his words after that... "Home Sweet Home" & "Without You" & "Don't go away mad" were the bomb bomb!! " You're invited, but your friend can't come" was killer too.

I'd say Motley Crue

Tempest - Vince Neil did not write lyrics for Motley Crue. Nikki Sixx wrote all the lyrics.
and I'd say either Motley Crue or Skid Row had the best lyrics. Cinderella was great too though.

Crue.
I thought this topic was about best individual lyrics, and I was running all of my favorite song lyrics in my head and couldn't really choose one. They were all Nikki's.Posted 1 year ago #
