You beat me to it darl, but I wasn't trying to make it a competition. :)

Mick must surely be one of the most underated drummers ever to be a part of the rock/pop world. As well as being a brilliant timpanist, he was a glorious showman as well. I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen him twirl his drumsticks while smiling at the camera during performances. Thats unlike a few other drummers of the time, more often than not Dave Mount of Mud, who used to try to do the same thing and end up dropping their sticks. We always used to talk about that at school the day after Top Of The Pops had been on.

    RIP Mick.

    Exceptionally well said Dynamo.

The only thing that I would like to add is that Mick pioneered the use of twin bass drums in rock. Not that he used both but the look man, THE LOOK..........

Sweet was one of my most fave Glam bands in the 70s. Yes, I am that old. I used to have a poster above my bed, with him wearing his silver gear. I was 11 back then, and I got hooked on Glam rock. I was very sad when Brian Connolly died. Even more sad, because he had been ill with a muscle wasting desease and he had drinking problems. Funnily enough I still sometimes dream of him and Sweet. Brian was one of the grandfathers of Glam...

I think some of the reasons for the drinking was the pain caused form the illness, isn't that correct? I know some others have dealt with this but I don't think there is a cure??

Looking back, it's sad to see the way Brian's health deteriorated over the years. A reunion in 1990 was aborted because his voice wasn't up to it. Check out this video to see what I'm talking about. The guy seems like a shell of his former self, just 11 years after he and the other members parted ways.

Brian will always be my fave Glam Rock front man,I met him once at the Marquee in London when Andy and Mick were recording their live album there.Very polite and at that time still looked good- a treasured memory-. I´m off to play my fave Sweet track now Healer.
