So why did I think he was still alive?

why do you assume I am a guy?
why is it when you type a lame cut-down like "i guess i cramped your style buy voicing my opionion...how silly of me (notice the sarcasim)"
    you spell it wrong?

You really need to learn how to put people down in a more repectful way.

thanks for clearing that up. I don't want to get this into a ball of disgust....when we're supposed to be here for fun. I really didn't know about Randy Rhodes...only his name.

Randy Rhoads was another legend to be that was cut down before his time. May he R.I.P, Rock in Peace.

What makes Randy different to all the rest? He was glam.

Randy Rhoads was an amazing guitarist, but I agree with TooFastForLove that Jake E. Lee was vastly under-rated. Even though I prefer Rhoads, Jake E. Lee was a close second for Ozzy's best guitarist imho. Not that Zakk Wylde isn't good, because he is. His heart seems to be in Black Label these days though.

Considering how short his career is, he left quite a mark anyway.

He frequently shows up on "best guitarists ever" lists, and often ranked near the top.

Heck, he only played on like... 4 albums?

And of those 4,only the Ozzy ones had much wide exposure. The Quiet Riot records were only released in Japan, at least initially. Funny huh? Considering they weren't japanese or anything.

definitely one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived! i went into a state of shock on first hearing about it. we all have to go sometimes but it's sad when it has to happen like that. but his fans still have his music and his memory still lives on! r.i.p.

Randy has got alot more 'feel' in his playing than Jake ever had. Randy broke new ground in his playing with Ozzy while Jake hasn't done anything innovative, just recycles the same old. No contest.

    And your point is?

Mine is if you have something to say, please don't miss the opportunity of imparting some knowledge. Stating the obvious is rarely helpful and never insightful.

Syndrome477, here's a clip of Jake E. Lee. He's OK and is best known as one of Ozzy's guitarists.

That's cool man. We all come here with good intentions but our intentions can be enhanced if we take a moment when calling someone out, to take the time to explain. Rather than to point out their ignorance. Call it online etiquette.

Do it offline in the real world and we'd probably get our asses kicked.
