My heart was broken to hear that Metal's voice passed away. Dio was awesome, creative and had a good heart from what have heard of other musicians. He was a inspiration to glam rock even though he was the Rock Godfather of Power Metal. The Rock world won't be the same without him. Rock's Valhalla has gained a new warrior and we have lost one. My thoughts go out to his family may he Rock in Peace. The dude had a long career he started in a Rockabilly band in the 1950's for chrissakes and played ever since! Here is one of my favorite songs of his, watch this and remember him.

I couldnt believe it happened, I knew he was battling stomach cancer for a while but it was still crazy to hear.

He had pipes of gold, he will be missed.

Dio was and always will be one of my favorites! He was like no other. He will be missed. But we still have his music to go on forever! For such a little guy , the certainly had a set of pipes on him! :) RIP

They don't want people to worry. It's pretty simple. I guess on one level as long as you're alive, you're "beating it".

Poor old bloke, gut cancer would not be a good way to go. My other half has loved Dio since forever and was almost in tears when I told him that Dio had passed. When cash is a little more flowing, he's going to get a Ronnie James Dio tribute tattoo. I think my favourite Dio song is Rainbow In The Dark :)

This was such shocking news at the time, they'd been saying for ages that he would recover and Dio personally said he would make it to the High Voltage tour.. But of course, he passed away and instead Black Sabbath/Heaven and Hell had singers join them for a tribute concert.
The videos of that concert were hard to watch. Everyone looked destroyed by the fact he passed away.

Hey! On the bright side! Heaven's got to have a hell of a band now, right? Dio? Randy Rhoads? Jimi Hendrix? The Rev?

It was utter bewilderment and saddness when the news broke Ronnie was dead. He was in the biz for the music not the money. He was one of the select few that was a genuine person on and offstage. All the charity work he did was awsome. In 91 my neighbor was part of the Dio fan club and had backstage passes to his Lock up the Wolves tour when it came here. But he had no car / ride to get to the show. I had tickets to see Dio and he came to me and said if I gave hima ride, hed give me a after show pass. I jumped for it. After the encore ( Mystery ) we headed to the backstage door, showed security our " Access All Areas " badges and went in. I got a Coke and milled around a bit, then out came Ronnie. Geeze he only stood maybe 4 and a half- 5 feet tall. He walks right up to me and says " Hello there, Im Ronnie Dio Thank you for attending tonights performance, I appricate it very much " I shake his hand and introduce myself to him and tell him I have not seen a Dio concert since he was in Oakland, California at the Coliseum for The Last in Line back in 1984. He signs my Last in Line tour shirt and moves on. Leave it to a woman, the ex-girlfriend ripped the shirt so its gone now. That pissed me off real good, dumped her over that among other things. But he was such a nice man. I was just listening to the Hear N Aid album and made me think of him and his kindness.

To add insult to it all, the biblethumpers were at his funeral service protesting.

He was the little man with the big voice.

I cried when I heard it. Rainbow is one my favourite bands, and I love his voice.

My nasty reputation takes me everywhere. :D
