The late great bassist of Metallica, Cliff Burton wasn't exactly a Glam rocker, but his style was, just by his big hair and "fuck you" attitude about things; he wore bellbottoms when no one else did. He only played on three of Metallica's albums; their first three Kill Em All, Ride The Lightning, and my favorite Master of Puppets. Sadly on September 27, 1986 Metallica was in Sweeden when their bus flipped over and crushed Cliff to death, killing him at 24 years old. He was an amazing bassist and is my biggest inspiration on playing bass. His solo on Kill Em All "Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)" is insane. His combination of distortion and wah effects on bass made his playing sound like real guitar. Listen to Metallica's instrumental song on Master of Puppets "Orion." Cliff had three bass solos in it, two of which sound like guitar. Oh and Youtube his solos, they are mind blowing. I think that he is the greatest bassist of all time. RIP Cliff.

Fuck Cliff is the Jesus of Thrash Metal  He was a weirdo psychodelic head, he looked ugly as fuck, he listened to jazz and punk, but he was thye greatest Thrasher who ever fucken lived. Anesthesia is soo orgasmic, I feel like breaking down to tears just listenin' to it. Cliff is GOD and I will forever hail!

Metallica should have just wrapped it up and ended when he died.
Cuz when he died, all the talent in that band did too.

This couldn't be more true.they seemed to lose focus after cliff was gone.and jason newsted should have found someway to stay with flotsam and jetsam.also, dave mustaine would have made metallica 10 times bigger had he not gotten kicked out.I mean, just look wat dave did without metallica.imagine if he shredded it up with james all these years and sung harmonies with james.that would have been awesome.too bad alcohol got in the way.would like to see them shred together, but will never happen cuz dave says he'd rather hammer his balls, haha

No doubt about it--Cliff was a masterful bassist. I got to see him once live in indianapolis on the Ride the Lightening Tour... with Armored Saint and WASP... what a show!

    Cliffs one of my Hero's.
Master of Puppets, thanks to my older brother, was my first real metal song that I loved. Metallica were the first ever band that meant so much to me.
I was gonna get a tattoo of Cliff.
