I love Twisted Sister and everything, but I think that Sweet just has so much more range and musical talent. Sister writes some great catchy songs that are really fun, but Sweet has songs ranging from fun to outraged to sad to encouraging, and they're all really freaking great.

how can she skip a sister song? by listening to a Sweet song. I've always liked the Sweet - that will never change...but I like twisted sister too. It's not shameful to prefer the sweet over twisted sister.

I had to go with TS, but I expect it's an ignorant choice being as I never saw the Sweet live.

Is it right that Dee Snider wore a wig and didn't really have long hair?

Not sure about the wig mate, but I can tell you for certain that he wears make-up, and it isn't his actual face.

lol...bringing my sarcastic side outta the closet now..but i press the little button on my iPod that skips....as it stands at the moment i only have 2 Sister songs on anyway...'I Wanna Rock' and 'We're Not Gonna take It'...and even when they're actually on my iPod i rarely listen to the first unless i'm doing playlist order...it's simply a matter of preference for me...i can skip Sweet songs too, i just don't do it as often.

I don't believe that's true. Whenever I've seen pictures or videos of him without his hair poofed out it's been held back in a long ponytail, but some people might not notice and think that he just doesn't have long hair or something. I'm not positive, though, but I'd almost say for certain that he has always indeed had long hair.

    Sweet have a real big choice in back catalogue and are by far the better musicians. Wrong comparison really to start with i think. Should be more like;
    Twisted Sister or Teaze?
    Sweet or Deep Purple?
Shouldn't pitch lightweights in with a heavyweight.
Teaze never get much of a mention here and yet they put out some great albums in their day, equally as many as T.S.

    A tough choice!
I like them both pretty much equally I suppose.
    I voted for SWEET.

sorry dude, can't let you get away with that. It's common knowledge many of the Chinn-Chapman acts didn't play on their albums, and The Sweet are no exception. Wig wam bam in 1972 was the first Sweet single on which the real members of Sweet played.
    - although Ronnie Le Tekro was drafted in by the producer for TS's Love is for Suckers,
Stay Hungry by TS sold 6 million, Sweet never came anywhere close to that. Lightweights?
TS had 5 albums, up to Connelly leaving Sweet had 6 studio albums - please correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Agree it's not a valid comparison though. BTW it's Dee's own hair, it's Jay Jay who dons the syrup!

As much as i love T.S they absolutely, 100% definately got anywhere close to Sweet's 56 million record sales and that was at the Desolation Boulevard era. Sweet always played on all the b-sides.
All a-sides after Little Willy and Brian Connolly sang on all the earlier stuff but that shit aside Twisted Sister were not at all successful on the global scale Sweet were.
Minor hits in minor countries and were more popular when they re-formed playing the same material. Saw them support Alice Cooper and they were superb, even stole the show but as far as history goes they can't compete with Alice and certainly not the SWEET.
    That's a fact.

I remember a figure of 50 million singles sold worldwide about the time of Blockbuster and Hell Raiser being in the charts so I'd imagine that their total sales should easily top the 100 million mark now for both singles and albums.

I saw the 56 million "already sold" in an ad for a U.S tour from some magazine, but in any case, T.S DO NOT even get anywhere near to SWEET'S global sales. I would say Blockbuster outsold Twisted Sisters entire back catalogue, including all albums and singles?
    Totally different in every way.
Sweet were the highest earning rock band IN THE WORLD for a time in 1976.
As much as i like Twisted Sister, they are really small if you compare them to Sweet.
