Mick Mars, of course. I never liked fast players. I cn't play fast either. Mick is one of my favourite guitar players (and he is cute, too).

As an overall guitar player: Randy. He had the tone, the chops and the passion. I'm sure in a headcutting contest he would've played rings around Mick. Just listen to the solos in Crazy Train or Goodbye To Romance, or the complex riffing in Diary of a Madman.
That being said Mick has that incredible rock'n'roll cool-factor and awefully powerful sound that makes him an iconic guitar player too. Plus he has a knack for writing great, memorable riffs (Wild Side, Girls Girls Girls,...).
I'm hard pressed to choose really.

I agree with Guitarsmurf. While they are both great guitarists and Mötley Crüe is my favorite band, the fact is Randy is the better guitarist. Not saying Mick isn't good, he's got soul in his fingers. But when you examine it from a technical aspect, Randy is definitely the better guitarist. They both wrote great shit however, and i ain't trying to bash either of em.

Randy Rhoads was technically "better", but Mick always had the better riffs, and knew how to write catchy stuff, where Randy Rhoads was technique technique technique. To me, guitarists are either in the "Keith Richards" category or in the "clever bastard" category. Rhoads is a clever bastard, Mick is a Keith.
That reminds me, if a band ever had Randy Rhoads as the lead guitarist and Mick Mars as the rhythm guitarist that would be beyond awesome.
