The love of glam is about the music first and foremost...BUT it's also about the "LOOK".
Which of the following glam guitar heroes had the coolest style/look IN THEIR PRIME?
**SLASH --The black mop & top hat and shades, cigarette dangling from his lip, Gibson guitar held low, slouched like he was about to pass out(which he probably was...). Oh, yeah, he played in GNR--like I even needed to say that...
**GEORGE LYNCH --Dokken's axe man with an explosion of blonde hair on top of his brown hair, hunched over, legs spread far apart, playing his guitar like it pissed him off.
**WARREN DEMARTINI --Ratt's guitarist played like he was receiving the best blow job ever. He didn't need the blonde mane and Flying V that Robbin Crosby had to stand out. All eyes were just on his kick ass style.
**JAKE E. LEE --The Ozzy guitarist had the biggest head of hair and the coolest way of moving while playing. It looked like a stumble backwards--but it wasn't--it was just fucking cool. Bonus points for making a white guitar look cool.
**MICK MARS --The monster from the Crue. He didn't say shit, didn't dance or run around the stage, wasn't the best-looking dude...But he was still a stand-out in a band FULL of stand-outs. Now that's impressive!
**C.C. DEVILLE --The ultimate glam guitarist. The wild mane of platinum blonde hair(or hot-pink -- remember the MTV award show?). The glam clothes that belong in any How To Dress Glam book. The hyper stage presence. "C.C., pick up that guitar and talk to me"!
**JEFF LABAR --The Cinderella axe man earns a place on this style list for his Jake E. Lee-esque look and his over-the-shoulder guitar swing. I always loved that fucking move!
REMEMBER THIS IS ALL ABOUT THE LOOK/STYLE. THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHO PLAYED BETTER. (So no "Where's Randy Rhoads? Where's Yngwie Malmsteen? comments)
