During the awesome 80s the once B-side slow tracks damn near became a genre of their own: THE POWER BALLADS.

The record company formula was in place: Release the rocker tune, then release the Power Ballad, then the money will roll in...AND IT DID!

But some of the Glam Bands did it better than others. So which band had THE BEST COLLECTION OF POWER BALLADS? Which band deserves to be called the true "KINGS OF THE POWER BALLADS"?

**MOTLEY CRUE - "Home Sweet Home", "You're All I Need", "Without You"

**CINDERELLA - "Nobody's Fool", "Don't Know What You Got(Till It's Gone)", "Coming Home"

**GUNS N' ROSES - "Patience", "Don't Cry", "November Rain"

**POISON - "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", "Something To Believe in", "I Won't Forget You"

**SKID ROW - "18 & Life", "I Remember You", "Wasted Time"

**DEF LEPPARD - "Bringin' On The Heartbreak", "Love Bites", "Hysteria"

**WARRANT - "Heaven", "I Saw Red", "Sometimes She Cries"

**BON JOVI - "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "Never Say Goodbye", "I'll Be There For You"

**SCORPIONS - "Still Loving You", "Winds of Change", "Send Me An Angel"

Always thought Scorpions "Still loving You" was the best power ballad of the 80's. winger had a couple also with "Headed for a Heartbreak" and "Miles Away" Your right, first single-a rocker. Second single-power ballad.

    Every time.

I think the Scorpions did it best. If you want to go with the most 80's cheeze I'd say Def Leppard haha but they are great songs.

As a personal favorite its WASP.

Warrant's "I Saw Red" is easily one of my favorite power ballads. Guns n Roses is my favorite band and November Rain's my favorite song of all time, but i never thought of it as a power ballad before i guess

I know what you mean, I never thought of "18 & Life" as a 'power ballad' to be honest. It's just a slow-tempo rock tune to me...but, it's always called a power ballad...I always thought power ballads were the songs about love or breakups.

Warrant, the intro for Sometimes She Cries always makes me overly excited or something..I shiver and go all funny : P It's like I'm on drugs..

That doesn't sound like drugs you're ON.

Just kidding...I know the feeling: I get goosebumps in the build-up of "I Saw Red". When Jani starts screaming, "I've been hurt and I've been blind..." - - Goosebumps....Everytime...
