i can see how one would associate music and colors. i definatly see what you are comin from. but Motley will always be better than guns. I mean, all original members are still alive and are still willing to play together. that has definatly got to count for alot.

- rockNrollstarTrue, but moreso(for me), I just have a stronger emotional connection to early Crue.
The first two albums mainly for me.
I saw them on the Shout tour, opening for Ozzy, and I'll never forget that experience...it was my second concert, and blew me away.
I had my first "girlfriend"(we never even kissed..but still...)on the night my friend Bill had borrowed Too Fast For Love, and we snuck out of an all night church function(an anti-choice rally, basically...we were Catholic kids)to meet these girls and watch Happy Birthday To Me with them...then spent the night wandering the streets, sleeping behind a school near a cemetery and park benches, and trading listens of TFFL on his walkman and watching out while the other person slept. The whole night, the phrase that kept going through my head was "Do you know how it feels to be wanted"...because even though it didn't amount to anything, I felt wanted.
She broke up with me about a half hour later...but I kept a good attitude about it, because she lived 3 hours away anyway.
May not sound like much, but it stands out for me.I have really nothing remotely similar to connect Guns & Roses to.
The opening bass bits on Sweet Child are kinda nice, but they get drowned out pretty quick.

Mötley, G'n'r are great but far from being mötley.

Crue of course!

My vote went to Crue. I love GnR, but they will never be back together. At least with Crue, you can still have a chance of seeing them in concert. Axl is to psychotic for that.

I like them both, but I gotta say the Crue
INDIE SUCKS, HARDLINE SUCKS, EMO SUCKS, YOU SUCKPosted 3 years ago # -
Motley hands down... It was them who made GnR's, if Motely hadnt given them a chance they wuldnt have gotten their name out their and Vince even used to help Axl with his singing, THEN Guns threw it back in their faces, Izzy kicked shit out of Vinces wife and Axl said all this shit about him in the news... Biting the hand that feeds you is not on in my eyes.
Motley Crue didnt try and be rock n' roll like all these other bands they were rock n' roll they had IT.

Motley Crue, at least their putting out new stuff

Motley Crue, at least they put out a new album
Posted 3 years ago # -
I like a few GNR songs...but I gotta go with Crue. They are just an overall better band for me. It might change later...idk.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Motley Crue of course

I love the Guns, but Crue is far better. They've lasted longer and they put out a lot better albums, and I can't really stand Slash. He is a dick to the back bone of the band(Axl).

Singing:
GnR: Axl Rose's voice can get annoying after to long, it sounds like someone stomped on his nuts. He has alot of talent, but he gets old prety quick.
Crue: Vince Neil can get annoying after a while too. He can barely sing anymore, and half the time you cant under stand him.
Winner: GnR, I love Vince but Axl has a more powerful voice.
Guitar:
GnR: Theres no doubt that Slash is one of the greatest guitar players of our time, I cant really find anything wrong with him. He has a more bluesy style of playing though.
Crue: Mick Mars is possibly the most underrated guitarist ever. He rocks, he can play so fast and makes awsome riffs. But he has hardly any place in the band, everyone else makes the decisions while he sits there and takes whatever they give to him. He is getting older to. But he is still friggin awsome.
Winner: Crue, I'll probly get yelled at for this but Mick Mars is the man, Slash is awsome, but I personally like Mick's sound better.
Bass:
Duff Mckaggan: He plays bass well and all but its hard to tell how good you are at playing bass when your, well, playing bass. I dont really know about Duff to much, cool name though.
Nikki Sixx: Everybody loves Nikki, and he is one of the greatest song writers ever, and he plays bass very well from what I can think of.
Winner: Crue, Nikki is the man.
Drums:
GnR: 2 different drummer, Steven Adler and Matt Sorum, Matt is a personal hero of mine, but niether of them and exceptionally good, they get the job done and have there moments, but there not all that.
Crue: Tommy Lee is my hero, He is awsome at the drums, possibly one of, if not, the greatest drummer I've ever heard, he rocks.
Winner: Crue, hands down.
All around musical sound:
GnR: There sound is more rough and hard, driven by Slash's bluesy riffs, and dominated by Axl's rouch voice.
Crue: More Glamy, fast riffs, awsome solos, great drum beats and pretty good singing. There earlier stuff ( Shout at the devil, To fast for love) is my favorite music of all time.
Winner: Tie, I cant really choose.
Tally of the votes:
Gnr: 2
Crue: 4
Winner: Crue, I love both of them, but Crue rerally does it for me, I love them.

i'd have to say Motley. I find I can listen to the Crue more and not be bored. Its not because they have more songs - its just that I can get sick of listening to GNR after awhile. However, if I'm in a GNR mood, its hard to say no. =)
Also...Motley's new CD is awesome! Somehow, I don't think Chinese Democracy will even come close (that is, if ever at all!!!)
Posted 3 years ago # -
Oh Hell no that is not fair! Can I vote for both of them?! Thats like asking me to chose between chocolate or vanilla when I can have both!

Appetite For Destruction is better than any Crue album. In fact, GNR did more with that one album than any other glam band did in their careers. But Crue vs. Guns?? Crue is much better. They set the standard for what 80s rock should be. They were and still are brilliant.
