Do you guys know about Beatallica? They do Beatles songs, Metallica style.
They're really good, you'd swear it was really Metallica.

Also I love Slayer, Rammstein and Megadeth.

I'm livin' in the 70s, I feel like I've lost my keys

Sick Thing I LOVE BeatallicaI've been a big fan for years! They used to offer all their music for free from their website. Apparently they are only now becoming commercial.

It's all rock. It doesn't matter what name you put on it. It's rock. And I love rock. Every flavor there is, I gotta have it. My son's friends are always amazed at the music I listen to. And the volume surprises them too. Rock gets in your soul. 'Specially if you play it loud enough.

I love a lot of Thrash bands actually. Some of my favorites include

    Sodom

    Kreator

    early Slayer

    Exodus

    Testament

    Celtic Frost

    Death Angel

    Overkill

    Megadeth

    early Anthrax

OH, and heres a fun fact a lot of people may not know. Pantera started out as a Glam band prior to reinventing themselves for the Cowboys From Hell album. Rather interesting ehh?

Yeah thats right! They had 4 albums that were actually glam during the 80's only one with Phil Anselmo ''Power Metal'' and it was proboly the best one they had with glam look. The other guy was Terry Glaze only heard a few tunes with him wasn't bad but no Phil Anselmo.

I love Pantera's glam albums. Their early albums along with Skid Row's debut helped me get into glam.

Jeepers, Pantera and glam in the same sentence is a contradiction in terms.

    Then, I uncovered this.

    Pantera @ GlamRock.com

Thanks IWP. I didn't know that.

I love old Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk/Metal Crossover bands.
After I got more into Punk, bands like Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, and Black Flag were pretty easy icebreakers with my friends, who were still into Metal, and not so aware of Punk.
I still love Metallica's music up till And Justice For All, as well as Slayer, Anthrax just didn't age well for me(although I'll take Anthrax over Megadeth), But I still like:
    Wehrmacht/Biermacht
D.R.I.(mostly for their Hardcore stuff, but I bought Crossover...then got bored)
    Black Flag
    Death(it's silly....but it's fun!)
    Agnostic Front
    Cro-Mags
Suicidal Tendencies was my favourite band when I was in 8th and 9th grade, so that's 1985-86...but honestly, they lost their edge on Join The Army.
I still respect them, seriously...they got me through some tough times and I hope I'll see them someday(just once), but after that album, if I wanted a singer that finishes each verse with "ah", I'd listen to The Fall.

Edit: Crap! How could I forget the fastest Thrash Metal band on earth?
    Spazztic Blur!

    I love them!
Not just Beatles in a Thrash style, but also odd combinations of Metallica and Beatles lyrics and titles(Sgt Hetfield's Motorbreath Pub Band, and Leper Madonna, for example), and one case of a cameo from a Danzig soundalike.

I am deeply rooted in thrash metal man. Ever see a thrash act that is also glam?
Not too hip on most of the Nu stuff...I still rely mostly on my old reliables:

Slayer, Kreator, Celtic Frost, Dark Angel, Demolition Hammer, Destruction, Nuclear Assault, Entombed, Hallows Eve, Helloween, M.O.D./S.O.D., MetalChurch, Onslaught, Overkill, Possessed, Sacred Reich, Testament, some Anthrax, Sepultura...

there are many more, but I believe these are the majors that ran to mind as what I define to Thrash...

RichieWristrokkit, you were pretty much on track with the bands you listed as Thrash...but I do have some corrections to offer you:

Helloween is usually considered one of the founding fathers of what is today known as Power Metal. Excellent group though.

Possessed is considered somewhere between Thrash and Death Metal, and they are sometimes called the "first Death Metal band" along with the band Death. Entombed was one of the first major Swedish Death Metal bands, and Sepultura used to be Thrash before they sold out to the Nu-Metal crowd in the mid-late 90's.

I like Metallica enough to listen to them, but I don't own their albums or anything. Don't like the singer too much.

Megadeth, on the other hand, is definately one of my favorite bands ever. Dave Mustaine is brilliant. I got United Abominations for my birthday and still listen to it all the time. Also helps that a bunch of Megadeth's stuff actually means something as opposed to the "EVERYTHING DIES!" attitude of a bunch of thrash metal bands. Plus, the first CD I ever made out to was Cryptic Writings. Which is funny, because "Almost Honest" defined that relationship, lol. Of course, I bought the CD the next day.

old metallica up to master of puppets, megadeth up to rust in peace, slayer, celtic frost, exodus, metal church. i always thought this whole thrash vs. glam or whatever feud had to be the stupidest thing i ever seen! music is music and it just comes down to whatever your personal taste in music or lifestyle is. but, unfortunately people can be stupid and not just use better common sense and judgement.
