MAIDEN ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!! In my opinion better songs, singers, and overall artists. I use to listen to number of the beast like 50 times over each day :p It's just my point of view on Metallica, but I get the feeling like they changed so much over the years, their songs became crappier and crappier, their egos grew...They constantly feel the need to insult glam, I remember in an interview or documentary i saw a while back they said that they would kick out and beat up any glam rocker, i heard one guy in the interview say shit like "FUCK YOU, YOU MOTLEY CRUE CREEP" It's all just music, can I not like motley and metallica without being hated on at their concerts? and the "metallica bangers" these obsessed fans who don't see a world beyond metallica, or any other band besides metallica, you like any other band than metallica and they hate you instantly. Besides, I've seen them a while back and their concert was nothing compared to a motley crue one

That's a tough question.. Metallica was my favorite band when I was 13, and I still like them. I haven't listened to Iron maiden as much, but I was on their concert two months ago and they were a-m-a-z-i-n-g!
So mmmh, I'd say that I prefer Iron Maiden just a little bit more.

I have to say Metallica must deffintly, One they have great songs an Has alot of Expirence wrighting lyrics, an then again Iron Maiden Rules must the time cause the way they right there Chords to the music is the Bomb, but either way both Bands are great. But in my opion Metallica, cause it takes more to wright lyrics then it does Chords.

Metallica sold out during the 90s when grunge was taking off. Let's face it,they wimped out big time whilst Maiden just kept playing metal knowing full well that they weren't going to be successful.
Too bad in the end Megadeth chickened out as well

i really like hard rock , glam and stuff, but my favorite band is metallica, they brought me to listen to rock, i love the lyrics written by mr. Hetfield, the solos and everything

To be honest, I love Iron Maiden whole my life, so I can't say Metallica is better, though Metallica created THE sound.

Maiden is one of my favoutites bands, I grew up with Maiden posters on my wall and they are true Metal Legends.Metallica released 3 great albums back in the 80s,propably their best work but I'll vote for the British giants.

Iron Maiden I think is better , over the past 20 years I think Metallica has changed too much. The first 2 Metallica records are great works. But after say ... Master of Puppets I stopped buying their music. It just seemed too political. They turned into the U2 of metal. Every Iron Maiden to me is just masterpieces. Just my own opinion.

Metallica got too much of the typical rockstar image at the "black album"
i´m sorry but they changed the speed/thrash metal scene and then they do the "black album" cause they listened to "dr feelgood" of mötley crüe?!
bands like metallica HATED back there in the 80´s glam metal
and only cause they wanna make the big money they take the sound of their hate-bands
sorry guys,mötley crüe is mötley crüe,and not metallica!
metallica´s two first album kicking ass!!
master of puppets got weaker cause the title song totaly sucks when you had to hear this song every day of this guys only hear music to be cool,i cant hear this song anymore!
maidens two first albums are great two
but bruce dickinson got a constant work with maiden,maybe the albums got weaker,but they were not bad(as metallicas do)
metallica live became shit (cause lars never was a good drumer,not even back in the earliest days)and hetfield and crew changed very hard,this is my opinion
but maiden,are live...there is no word for it
just sounds like the 80´s,got one concert from "rock am ring" where they played only songs of their first 4 albums
this concert is so fuckin great!
but thats when you got steve harris at the bass and songwriter
