Well, I saw James Hetfield sing at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert so I would take more of a shine to Metallica, just for seeing him sing.

There would have been a day when this would be a problem choosing.... but not anymore.

I'll listen to Iron Maiden before the sellouts Metallica have become.

I'm torn between Metallica when they mattered(pre-Black Album) and Maiden.
Metallica 20 years ago was perfect for me...Punk Rock speed, and enough Metal to keep me from feeling too out of place with my friends, most of whom were Metal fans.
At that time, they could blow the doors off Maiden.
But then they slowed way down.
I respect experimentation, but these guys just point blank did things they swore they'd never do, and eventually changed from a music career to a litigation career.
Maiden is just Maiden...they put out albums with Eddie on the front, and a Bible verse on the back, and show off their chops.
I'm not really big on them, but I can respect them, and I still have Piece Of Mind on vinyl, which I got when I was 12.
Seriously, you can't beat Eddie....especially if you're suing your fans.

At uni, the rock music society should really have been named the Iron Maiden and Metallica fan club. That's all they ever played, and whilst I don't hate either band, I do associate them with narrow minded longhairs with thick specs. So which is better? At a push, Metallica.

i just saw metallica last october. it was an accoustic show but ive been loosing interest in them. to me they are just a bunch of winers. Definatly Iron Maiden.

Anything worth doing, is definatly worth over doing!

Hands down Iron Maiden. Can't beat "Number of the Beast" or "Power Slave"! However, Metallica put out four great albums in the 80's that I love but it is The Maiden for me.

I don't really know....well Metallica had way better songs and most of Iron Maidens' songs are long and boreing so I'm gonna have to go with Metallica.

I kinda think Metallica's new stuff is pure shit (namely St. Anger) but, I still think they're awesome, none the less... so I will definitely say... Up the IRONS!!!

I'm going Maiden. Don't get me wrong I like Metallica's early stuff, Master of puppets kicks ass, For Whom the bell tolls rocks, but their not the same as they use to be. They want to tell people not to download music specifically their music then play the download festival, they want to tell the world metals dead, cut their hair and put on suits fine. I understand Music is a business but theirs a right way and a wrong way to make money and keep your fan base, Kiss is a prime example of a right way to do it.

I like both but i have to go with METALLLICA!!! I like their style/attitude (think bruces vocals can sound a bit pompus (simply style))and i think metallica are more versitile. THe fact that they have the balls to do a ballad in spite of what many of their fans want is inspiring and even though im not fond of load-st anger i give them the cudos that they did what they wanted.

I'd say Maiden Dont like Metallica. Not a massive fan of Maiden but I love some of their stuff. Its good ass-kicking heavy metal, but with enough to think about too
