Depends on how you define Glam. A lot of Black Metal bands wear make up. More bands in Terrorizer are wearing make up, than in Classic Rock!
Any genre of music if done well, is usually worth listening to.

Some of it is okay, but a lot of the time, they get carried away and I don't like that screaming shit...if I want to get screamed at, I'll just go piss someone off, ya know?

But, like N1v3n said, if it's well done, it's worth listening to.

Yeah, thats true. I don't like it when people do things for shock effect, like tearing bibles and shit, but if they mean what they say, its cool.

Exactly. And then, every ignorant person out there gets this assumption that if you listen to any type of metal that you're some sort of anti-everything person who's just a no-good contribution to society.

I for the most part do not like black metal as a genre. I like a few early bands like Bathory and Venom, but the rest are just very boring to listen to. Not to mention that they took the corpsepaint idea right from Kiss even though they would want you to believe otherwise.

HAHAHAHA, not like thats a deffinition of glam or anything. silliness aside im not a black metal person at all, personally i think it sux, music should be fun, it should sound good, and it should make you feel fantastic, black metals not ticking any of those boxes.

I'm not a big fan of Black Metal but sometimes I like their crazy performances that some of them attempt.

i love their extremely heavy riffs and insane vocal style....but not if all the do is scream...now...some black metal such as dimmu borgir only scream when its really nessicary...kinda like alot of 80's metal bands did ya know ?

Maybe its just me but I really don't like the vocal style of these bands I call "Cookie Monster" Metal but and this a big one, these guys can just fucking tear it up and they play good stuff the way I drive my car, Fast! I am in awe how they can play stuff so technical in a thunderclap. Its just the vocals I don't like, I like to actually half way hear what somebody is singing about. The most hard core I can stand is Slayer or Kreator, I maybe a wimp but that is just what I like.

I've listened to a lot of the older bandz, I think we referred to it az speed metal here in Oklahoma. But, some of the groupz you listed I listened to. Usually when I waz pissed off and feeling rebelous. and when I couldn't find my Shout at the devil tape.

Bathory is one of my absolute favorite bands
and i listen to a lot of other old black metal
but one interesting thing about bathory
quorthon was a glamer before he began bathory
he was absolutly mötley crüe fan
i know lot of pics of him he looks like a glamer the difficulties: an inverted cross in his hand,a pentagram on the ground and candles surround him

I like Black metal Bathory,although they are more avant-garde same with celtic frost who i probably like the most and actually had um i believe its two glam albums, venom is a little more thrashy and nwobhm but love em too. Darkthone, Mayhem and Immortal are great great bands a couple of immortal videos are pretty ridiculous but the music is really good also enslaved is good too not alot of black metal bands today are all that good a lot of them are fucking lame but if you wanna learn something about black metal i really recommend watching UNTIL THE LIGHT TAKES US a really really awesome documentary on black metal its an amazing film.

Bathory,Venom,Hellhammer,Mayhem,Morbid

but whats about Mercyful Fate/King Diamond?
Its Black Metal too
but it became a sub genre,the occult heavy metal
anybody knows bands of this genre?
maybe someone listen to:
In Solitude,Portrait,Devils Blood,Blood Ceremony

and whats about the sub genre blackend thrash/satanic thrash metal?

Favourite black metal band is Dimmu Borgir, then there's bands like Immortal, Gorgoroth, Behemoth, love loads of black metal bands.

For most shock rockers and Black Metalers its mostly all about the shock effect and rebellion it wasnt until euronymous started to make people believe mayhem were actually satanic that other bands actually thought it was all about being satanism and totally forgot what it was all about in the first place i really recommend people watch Until the light takes us it really explains the truths about black metal and it brings light to all the ruors and controversies surrounding the genre
