Well, I left the band I was in a while back, 'cos they basically just took the piss out of my playing and my songs constantly and talked about how brilliant they were, instead of practising... And it was all about Neil, anyway - it was made very clear I was just secondary. I got outta' that shit.
Forming another band at the minute - we dont have a sound yet but I'm predicting punky glam rock - like a fusion of stuff from the 1970s and stuff from the 2000s, which shall be cool. I've already got a singer, a bassist, a guitarist (me, lol) and a sax player. And our bassst is talking to a drummer. The singer has always wanted to be in a glam band and she's also very big on modern punk/scene stuff. And, our bassist, she's into modern punk mostly, but I got her into the New York Dolls, and I told her about Glam fashion and stuff and she seemed to like it. Our Sax player, he's into both modern punk and sutff like Bowie, so thats very cool. You can see where thats going, eh?
We'll get writing and practicing soonish, I suppose. It wont kick off for a bit though, I'm expecting. Still, shall be good fun!
And Sam; you know, you could always just try and explain to your friend that the bands just not really working out for you and you'd rather pursue a different path, but you wish them the best of luck and if they ever need help you'll help. Its better to leave a bad you dont like when you stop liking it, so you dont end up getting resentful of all the members, and stuff.
