One of our favorite members Beef used to play the live scene in the 80s.

There are some of us that are still in performing Glam bands including Stanley & our very own admin.

Who else? Step up and tell us about your role in the band and what experiences you'd like to share?

I'm sure you have some interesting stories to tell and we want to hear them.

Me me me! I play guitar in a glam metal band. We're still in the middle of member changes and tryin' to find a perfect line up (only me and the drummer have been the same whole time) etc., but we have already played one gig. And our second will be this month. And there are two next month. We play our own songs, which are heavily influenced by Mötley Crüe's two first albums.

I have played in a more traditional metal band (maiden, priest) though i left awile back, they wanted to be more metal and obviously i wanted to be more glam so i parted on good terms but we played about 10 gigs and recorded an Ep.

I always wanted to play drums since 1989. The crazy list of bands that set me off included Bonfire (Ken Mary), Enuff Z Nuff (Vikki Foxx), Slaughter (Blas Elias), Sanctuary (Dave Budbill) and Warlock (Micheal Eurich).

I missed the glam scene completely and ended up in Goth/Metal influenced bands. I was part of the UK's unsigned scene from 1999 to 2003. The biggest act that I played with was "American Head Charge".

Best of luck to everyone - Keep the scene alive!

I played in the band LoveCult a few years ago. Then i moved and the distance was to big to keep the band alive so they did go further without me.

Now i've got my own hardrock band. It's not big ass glam but just 80's hardrock. We don't have a name jet but probably it's gonna be 'Devils Riot'.
We are busy for half a year now and got 4 song ready so 3 more to write and then lets kick some ass on stage!!
We gonna record the songs verry soon so when we have a myspace it comes in this topic.

I'm in a newly started Hard Rock band - I call it Hard rock with Blues-rock and Glam Rock infleunces, Neil usually calls it a Hard Rock/Glam/Heavy Metal band... Although recently I've been listing it off as Rock 'n' Roll, like Lemmy does, haha.

Anyway, we're just started, and we're still looking for a drummer (the last one was an asshole, he never even turned up for practice, so he's out). And we'll probably get a singer at some point... We do a cover of 'Cryin' in the Rain' by Whitesnake, its quite different from the origional though. Its real tight when we play, plenty of soloing and stuff, but we desparately need a drummer for it, hahaha.

We're called Iron, but we're gonna take the piss out of the whole cliche'd name thing (Lets name our Heavy Metal band after some Metal!), but having a clothes' Iron on the front cover of the first album, LOL.

    But yeah, I play.

i played drums in a classic rock/80's metal cover band for the last year.just moved to texas,so we had to split.it was just a fuck around band to them, cuz theyre all older.im 21.they were 42,33,and 26.i didnt really fit in anyway, cuz none of them were glam, just kinda old and big.so i moved out here to texas to put together my own band of people my age so i can grow with them.i have a certain sound i want too.i want it to be a cross between dokken, skid row,poison,80's bon jovi, danger danger, warrant, and the attitude of crue and guns.im gonna put it together within the next few months hopefully cuz im itchin to get back out there and perform.i have a band name picked out,but i dont wanna reveal it til i get things all sorted out.hopefully by this time next year ill be on top of the world!

man readin everyones posts make it sound all easy getting into a glam band and leaving bands on good terms. man i have had so much trouble with that shit, i wanna leave the one band im in because its boring but then my buddy will probably get all emotional and start being a bitch like last time, and my if my glam band ever found a bassist thats actually glam or got rid of the other guitarist who isnt very glam the singer would leave and me and the drummer would be back to square one and fucked cuz glam is unknown up here

Well, I left the band I was in a while back, 'cos they basically just took the piss out of my playing and my songs constantly and talked about how brilliant they were, instead of practising... And it was all about Neil, anyway - it was made very clear I was just secondary. I got outta' that shit.

Forming another band at the minute - we dont have a sound yet but I'm predicting punky glam rock - like a fusion of stuff from the 1970s and stuff from the 2000s, which shall be cool. I've already got a singer, a bassist, a guitarist (me, lol) and a sax player. And our bassst is talking to a drummer. The singer has always wanted to be in a glam band and she's also very big on modern punk/scene stuff. And, our bassist, she's into modern punk mostly, but I got her into the New York Dolls, and I told her about Glam fashion and stuff and she seemed to like it. Our Sax player, he's into both modern punk and sutff like Bowie, so thats very cool. You can see where thats going, eh?

We'll get writing and practicing soonish, I suppose. It wont kick off for a bit though, I'm expecting. Still, shall be good fun!

And Sam; you know, you could always just try and explain to your friend that the bands just not really working out for you and you'd rather pursue a different path, but you wish them the best of luck and if they ever need help you'll help. Its better to leave a bad you dont like when you stop liking it, so you dont end up getting resentful of all the members, and stuff.

yeah i did that last time me and the drummer left and they got all mad about it, so i rejoined with a new drummer after my glam band wouldnt really talk to me cuz i was on a 2 week party binge since we never did anything but we got back together and things are going 10 times better than they were before except the bassist and other guitarist dont really fit in, they at least need to grow there hair out and josh bitches he just gets a fro i know it sounds stupid but im that serious when it comes to rock n roll
