I'm a Right-Handed Guitar Player using a Fender Stratocaster and I only started playing like a couple weeks ago cause I finally decided to step it up a notch. So I been practicing How to play Dream On By Aerosmith and I notice that my fingers (Left Hand) has been turning Reddish and it start to hurt a tiny bit (Almost no pain). Is this something I have to get used to?, or is there anything that I could buy to put on my hand or something? :|

harp player's fingers start to bleed when they first start playing, but eventually they get calouses on they're fingers, and they don't hurt anymore, and don't get sore. I think mabey it's the same with guitar, i'm not saying your fingers are gunna bleed, lol. but mabey, you'll begin to callous and they won't be sore anymore...

    just a thought.

Yeah, it talkes a while for the calluses to form. Not a strings player myself, but it will be easier on you if you build up the time you play each day. Start small and increase. That gives your fingers time to adjust.

I'll take the guitar player response 8O

The redness is temporary. Unless it starts to hurt so bad that tears well up in your eyes, keep playing.

Why the hell are you playing a stratocaster? :( Your avatar suggests that you have taste in guitars

Stratocasters are perfectly fine if you don't mind a guitar that takes alot of effort to play, goes out of tune even if you looks at the tremelo, sounds thin (even with a humbucker in the bridge), is so damn noisy when you crank up the distortion and everyone of them looks like they were designed in 1954.

If you wanna rock, a stratocaster is a really bad choice.

Didn't realize that was a GH2 guitar in the avatar. I thought you were really big and was holding an explorer.

Now an explorer, that is a cool guitar. So is a Jackson, Ibanez even maybe a ESP or an LTD :)

Aah I see admin, Well at least my next Guitar is going to be an X-Plorer. Woo! ... but I got to prove my pops that I can Rock with my stratocaster before they let me have an X-Plorer. And I got another question ... What AMP should I get for a stratocaster and then a future X-Plorer?

you're developing callusses (I think I spelled that right). I have them. They make your fingertips feel like leather, and when you get them, you don't feel the strings digging into your fingers.
