My 16th birthday is coming up in a few months and there's nothing I'd love more than to get a labret or nose piercing but my parents are so against all piercings in general. I'm willing to save up the money and pay for it, it's just the permisson I need from them, any suggestions?

Hm, that is an option but i'd like to keep that as my last resort, my parents and I don't get on that well anyway, I don't want to make it worse haha

I wanted a navelring so bad and my parents were against it.They said that I can take it when I´m 18.I just bought a beautiful navelring and asked my mom if she´ll let me have my navel pierced. My parents talked about it for a week and finally said that I can get my navel done...My dad was there with me when I got it done. After it was done they both said that "It doesn´t look as bad as we thought".

I didn't think you needed permission when you're 16? I just said to my parents that I'm 16, I don't need their permission, it's my body and I'm getting it done! I got my labret done a few months ago and I plan on getting my nose done in a few weeks. But yeah, if you do need parental permission, then I guess your only option would be to take a friend's parent!

the other option that i might suggest to you is that you go about this the rational way with your parents. if they don't approve of what you do already, then maybe coming at them with logic and facts is the best way to show them that you are adult enough to make the decision. Do some research on local shops, have some facts about the care of the piercing, be able to show them information from the shops about what types of sterilization they use, and show them that you have been responsible enough to earn the money not only for the piercing, but also for high quality jewelry for it, and for the upkeep and maintenance needed for it. often times when presented with logic and facts parents have no choice but to reevaluate the situation. In the long run, life will be much smoother for you if you manage to get their permission. Also consider that if you don't they may just make you take it out and then you are out the money for it. damn when the fuck did i grow up and start acting like an adult? i had to fight just to get my ears pierced and then they made me go to the doctor to have it done. lol Best of luck to you on this one and let us know how it turns out.

Its your body, do it with or wihout their permission. Christ sake. Its just how you want to express yourself. There's worse things you could be doing and probably are, without their permission. They should be glad you even asked them.
