I need help with my hair

Hey, Ive got very thick, curly, long hair, what can I do to get the best teased look, something kinda Jovi but with a scarf bandana, I just dont really know how to do it, can you help?

I'm not very good with bandanas or scarves (I end up looking bald when I try), but I know to tease hair you need to cut it in layers. At least if its thick. When you cut it in layers (so that the hair on the top gets shorter), your hair gets much lighter and stands up better than long, heavy hair.

Awesome. I had layers about a year ago but I never teased it then and now when I do it doesn't look right. As for the scarf, I keep it about 2 inches wide and keep it just on hairline, mainly on forehead (Hides having a big forehead like myself). I guess I'll have to go get my hair layered again, Thanks.
