Well I write once in a while some poems and I guess a lot of them can be sung and they might actually sound good too. But I have never really put too much thought in it.

I write loaads of songs! I do pretty much all the writing for my band and I try to find time to record songs myself too...

A lot of the songs I write are really 80s power ballads - I can churn them out one after the other, I find it a bit harder to write more upbeat songs but I think I can do a pretty decent job!

I'm trying to get other local bands to play my songs, most of them are too arrogant to think about playing songs that someone else wrote for them though... Wish I could sing, whenever I want to record a song I have to persuade someone else to do the singing :?

I'm putting the finishing touches to a new song at the moment, in the vein of Danger Danger's "I Still Think About You" - will definitely post a link when it's all done!

Written lyrics but not music. I'd say my lyrics more closely identify with Queen and T Rex, most of my stuff is very esoteric and coded, don't mean it to be that way, I just let the muse speak through me and thats what pops out on the page.

I have written some music, but nothing even remotely related to Glam, or even rock. All I did was some ambient style music, and a few classical music pieces, although I was in a Glam rock coverband at one point, but we didn't do any original material.

I write my own music and lyrics. I write lead guitar parts for them because I am trying to start a Christian Metal band with some people. The lyrics are mostly about God...but not in a preachy turn-off kinda way and high school crush themed...since well...I am only a Freshman in High School. lol. Most of the guitar parts turn out heavier than intended...but the solo's have a glam influence...or I hope so anyways. lol. I'd like to be a touring musician for a career someday....I hope.

Our music sounds pretty heavy, we wrote a iron maiden kinda song, others are more like Scorpions meeting Guns N Roses. I'll try to put some on the website when recording is finished, only guitars & drums are done yet :)

Lyrically I write Murderdoll-sy type stuff. Or Sixx A.M. stype stuff. Musically it's like Metallica, meets Motley Crue, meets Michael Monroe meets Slayer.

I'm trying to write a song write now. It's easy(ish) for me to come up with guitar parts, but I am crap at coming up with lyrics. They are just a bunch of random words that rhyme.

Same here. I've come up with about 20 tunes on piano but when it comes to making up some lyrics I am fucking hopeless. I would write something down and then shorty after realize it's too corny or cliche.

About 5 of the songs are almost done. I hope I'm not wasting my time making these songs just so my future band refuses to play them.

when i right lyrics its always about what ever floating around in my head and some of that is pretty radical

My lyrics are either Murderdolls-y (campy horror stuff), or Sixx: A.M.-y (suicide inducing). It depends on how I'm feeling at the time. Writing lyrics is easy, writing them well is hard.

i don't write lyrics or music, but i can take a song, listen to it while at the piano and arrange it for an orchestra to play it. so very many of the bands i have worked with in the past don't even read music. they all play by ear. i can really respect that, but as a classical musician, i need notes on a page. So, i tend to stay in that area of 'writing' music.
