Fuggin, glamours!! check this shit out...

    http://www.myspace.com/phonikrock

Phonik, INcredible Glam band from The outter eastern suburbs of melbourne australia. their songs are amazing and their shows draw every cool cat and hell rat from all over.
played with acts such as, "the angels (angel city)","the screaming jets", "the living end" and a buncha other random top acts.
party with these fuckers, it's great!

another new good aussie band that deserves a mention is WENDY ICON, the fusing of hardcore music and sleaze to make something not quite as good as either but it works!
    listen to their tracks here

Goddamn you Melbourners and your music scene! Everything I hear about Melbourne sounds so awesome (except maybe the ridiculous weather).
I would totally move there if I didn't have so much keeping me in Brisbane.

I'm livin' in the 70s, I feel like I've lost my keys
I got the right day, got the wrong week
I get paid for just being a freak

We really haven't had too many good bands down our way in a long time, so I have to say I am more than a little envious! Every once in a while I see a good band from our area, but they are pretty few in numbers.

Most of the local bands in our area play types of music that I cannot stand, such as Pop Punk or Nu-Metal, so that's why I always try to pay attention whenever a good local band gets started, and offer them all the support that I can.

Most local bands for me are not worth the effort at all. There is a neighbor of ours about 10 houses down that we hear rocking out and has been for the past 2 weeks or so, I really am tempted to go knock on their door and ask if I can be a groupie though.

Of course one could always argue that music is a matter of personal taste anyway, but I still cannot stand most of what is considered popular these days. Rock that doesn't rock, Metal that isn't Metal, you get the idea.
