The Extended Profiles are something that's new so when you open a new account or reactivate an old one, there won't be any information there so you want to put something in there and it won't let you.
Take a look at your date of birth! It's probably showing today's date or something recent. UPDATE YOUR DATE OF BIRTH FIRST!!. Once that is updated correctly, you can start building your profile.
