Since I've become moderator I've been having problems with the forum and bands sections going offline. All other sections: music, store and radio are fine? The issue lasts for 10 minutes or more and then goes away by magic. I cannot check the admin section during this problem as it is part of the forum. I have also noticed that the forum grinds to a halt before and after this event. Closing all programs and clearing the internet cache has no effect. I have yet to prove that restarting my machine or modem fixes the problem.

I received a reply from another member saying that they did not experience any problems with the site so I assume that it is something to do with my account? This is strange because if I clear my internet cache then I should no longer be signed in...

Sometimes I find the whole site is totally offline but that may be due to the recent maintenance.

I am using Windows XP SP3 with ie8 and all the latest software updates. My router has a built in firewall and I have AVG 9.0 virus protection. The problem is also the same on Firefox.

I've posted two pics to show what happens.

Did you get those messages during our lack of sleep discussion? If you did then I have to take back my quote about only happening to me!

Um, I restarted my machine and it came back on but it had been 10 minutes or so and it usually clears by then. It's been off three times between 7am to 8am this morning.

It's a problem with the hosting company. Been with them since the beginning and haven't experienced anything like this before. It is intermittent and affects databases only. The other pages your see have no database connection...i.e. homepage, store, music etc.

It's not just GlamRock.com that's been affected, it's all the sites they host. My webmail goes down at the same time.

I'm keeping an eye on it but there is nothing that can be done for the moment.

    UPDATE:

Just got off the phone to hosting support and they advise that the problem has been resolved. The server where the database is stored has been stable for the last hour so they are calling this a resolution!

This has been the first major hosting fuck up. The amount of mail they handle and the bandwidth we soak up, they do a pretty fucking amazing job.

Please come back and post if the problem recurs.

    UPDATE - 12/12/2009

Problems is rectified. The hosting company sent out a bulletin explaining the outage and explaining that it was resolved.

I'll lock this one up as the problem in question is quite rare.
