We all love pics here at GlamRock.com.

Currently you can only insert pics that are hosted on a external server. You cannot upload pics that are stored on your computer.

To insert a pic into your post -

    1. Open a separate browser window and access the picture that you want to insert into your post. (it can be on MySpace, Photobucket, wherever...)

    2. Position your mouse pointer over the image and right click.

    3. If you are using Internet Explorer, after right clicking, go down to "Properties", half way down you will see the images "Address (URL), copy that URL.

In Firefox, after right clicking, go down to and select "Copy Image Location".

    4. Return to GlamRock.com and in the post creation box, click the button up the top that says "IMG". A box will pop up.

    5. Position your mouse in the window and paste the contents of your clipboard. Click on "OK"

    6. In the "Enter description field", type of brief description of the image that you wish to insert. Please don't leave this blank

    7. Click OK

You are done, the code will automatically be inserted into your post. When you "Send Post" and view your posting, the image will be displayed.

    Thanks again

Hi.Could you please post here, the exact procedure to post photos?I don't understand most of those buttons.

I do not have any secretarial skills.I just sorta-kinda learned how to cut and paste. And I'm a bit afraid of hitting the wrong key and losing data inh my new computer, like I did last week.

Maybe having a "browse" button on here would help.

    Thanks.

GlamRock.com does not host pics. That means, if a pic is located on your computer, it cannot be uploaded here.

If you wish to show/link to a pic that is located on your computer, you will need to upload that pic to a server. There are plenty of free image hosting servers on the internet. Just Google on "free image hosting" to find a ton of them.

To determine if a picture is 600 pixels, smaller or bigger, have it up on your screen, right click on it and go down to "Properties" and it will tell you the length and the width of the pic.

IF THE WIDTH IS LESS THAN 600 pixels, EMBED THE PIC AS FOLLOWS

Above where you type your post, there is a row of buttons running across, starting with "Close Tags", "Bold", "Italic", "Link"....etc,

Click on the button that says "IMG"

That'll pop up a small window. Copy the URL of the pic and paste it into the small window and then click on "OK". Then, it'll ask for a description. Type in something, for example "Ratt playing Pasadena in 89" and click "OK" again.

You are done. Once you finish your post, the image will appear in it.

IF THE WIDTH IS MORE THAN 600 pixels

Copy the pic's URL and paste it into your post.

Once you finish off your post, the link to the pic will appear in it.

Under the "reply" box is a list of allowed HTML markup tags.

    Does it accomodate off-site hosting?

I always make mine 520 wide....... it's the limit on my home board where I'm an Admin.

Well, I guess the off-site hosting would be supplied by photobucket. GlamRock.com is a web site with a forum...and links from photobucket work here...
