    If you aren't a member of GlamRock.com, registering as a member is quick and easy. Click here to become a GlamRock.com member. The community wants to hear your opinion and make friends with you!

    During the past couple of weeks we've seen a shake up of GlamRock.com. Admin has had to spend time cleaning up this forum. We've had new members dive straight in and place adverts for various radio stations, trade sites and band demos or recruitment. We have also had to change the forums around to incorporate the non glam bands.

    I've decided to compile this quick guide for new members:

    <GETTING STARTED>

    Once you have read the terms and conditions, you should take time to read the sticky threads at the top of each forum. We currently have eight main forums. Please take note of the sticky thread "About to start a new thread: READ THIS FIRST" before creating a new topic.

    The welcome thread has been removed for various reasons including the fact that it is more important to contribute to a current topic rather than just telling us what bands you like and so on... Band lists can be added to your profile. There are plenty of topics on our site so get involved and enjoy yourself.

    If you are stuck or want to break the ice then maybe try one of the following threads:

    Hair 'vs' Sleaze : A nice game
    A Face to a Name
    Now Playing Thread
    What 3 CD's Have You Been Listening To Lately
    A to Z of Dressing Glam

    <POSTING>

    The rules for posting are simple:

    1) Don't duplicate threads, they will be closed or deleted!
    2) Try to keep to the subject of each thread.
    3) If you must ask a question, try and add it to the relevant thread.
    4) Contact Admin before placing adverts of any kind including band recruitment.
    5) Use the PM service if you wish to exchange silly comments (100 posts required).
    6) Select the correct forum for your topic to appear in.

    If you make a mistake or change your mind then you will find that the window for editing a post is 4 to 29 minutes. Once 30 minutes has expired then it's set in stone. You can't delete a post once it's accepted and single word posts such as "Cool!" will be rejected so add some content!

    <FINALLY>

    This site is not just about the forum, we have reference material on the bands, social networking, news, user groups, chat, internet radio and more...

    We hope you enjoy your stay here at GlamRock.com.

    As this forum is now well established, Newbies shouldn't be starting new threads unless the topic is in the community interest.

    Hearing your demo IS NOT in the community interest nor is alerting the community of your existence. Nor is asking a question, no matter how simple or interesting you think it is.

    Any posts of this nature will be DELETED.

    Newbies are encouraged to PARTICIPATE & POST ON ESTABLISHED THREADS to gain some knowledge and understanding of the community before creating discussion threads.

    The purpose of this rule is to improve the quality of the community. I have just spent a weekend cleaning up thousands of shit posts (most without responses) that add no value at all.

    GlamRock.com is into it's second year and the focus now more than ever is to provide a quality resource and reference site. Therefore, introducing who you are and what bands you like is not of interest. Besides, that stuff is already in your public profile.

    Also, letting the community know that you are back from a lay off isn't of interest either.

    Thank you for being part of our community.
