theyre scared of anything different maybe? i get picked on a lot for looking glam. sometimes ignore it but othertimes i tell them to fuck off (allthough i have been beaten up a few times doing that lol)
just have to deal with it i think

In a way I agree with Casey Nine. Part of it is because people see something so different, and that automatically makes them dislike it, and its easy to make fun of someone that is so different from everybody else. Another reason why people will make fun of you for it, is that nobody really knows anything about glam bands and how they looked, and they just think its gay.
I recently bleached my hair and started wearing leather pants to school, completely glamed out. I get some shit for it. People stare, people judge. Someone says something, or does something, stand up for yourself!! DONT TAKE SHIT FROM ANYONE, bro!!
I know how it is. hahaPosted 1 year ago # -
for me the worst part of this is that isn't only somebody that judje or criticize me, even my friends does that, and my band mates, and one of them is lyke my best friend and he likes hard rock n stuff!, sometimes looks like that he just dont assume his glam/hard rock side cos se's scared or dont have balls to tell others to fuck off, and because he is such an coward he become another idiot... and then i think how i want have an hard rock/ glam band if the members dont assume it...
damm i should have born in the 80's, or today in netherlands...Posted 1 year ago # -
I get called a "girl" or "gay" a lot. But then I know at least im being true to myself and the music that I love. And besides I dont see them working tight leather pants like I can up on stage!

Well, obviously the biggest reason is that most younger kids don't kno wat glam music/culture even is.some, even if u tell them its the 80's,they're completely oblivious to it existance.so a lot of it comes as misinterpretation of the visual effect, and assume u r drag or gay.I can never understand the people who never heard of 80's music.I mean come on,were they born in a barn? Haha.seriously, the biggest problem with the rock scene today,is general history.no one of todays kids really knows rock history.and that's all it comes down to.if everyone in todays generation knew that glam is a statement and music related, then no one would be making fun of it.see,no one today knows that glam is a rockstar look, like it was in the 80's.becuz of the overused cliché "party like a rockstar" (which I hate more than anything),all everyone knows today,is u gotta wear ed hardy/affliction shirts, have "bling",a drink in ur hand,be in a club with glowsticks, and listen to rap/techno,then ur a "rockstar".this world has come to complete shit, disgracing the term "rockstar".so yea,the main reason they make fun of glam is becuz of the modern day way of being considered cool, and any other way, whether its dressing glam,or even emo(not that I'm defending emo) is gay.

Well said Dash, I completely agree. A majority of boys make fun of my shirts and say that the people pictured are girls (like my look what the cat dragged in shirt). when in reality the members of that group got laid way more then these little punks will. And they don't understand that music can actually be fun without the use of the words "pimp" "bling" or "gangsta".

wow,ive only ever gotten this comment "oh is it still the 80's " which is fine they can eat it.
No one else says shit.
someone called my boyfriend an 80's glam fag once and he beat the shit outta that kid.Try sticking up for yourselves and not being such pussies
Posted 1 year ago # -
Ive started to not take crap from people, it feels great to show people that just because you dress glam, doesn't mean your a pussy. Its more the opposite.
Posted 1 year ago # -
I don't ever take shit from people. I'll tell them to piss off or kick their ass. Glams about being bad ass not a pussy.

why give a flying rats ass? keep your head up. if you are afraid and let them see it in your eyes, they know youll be easy to fuck with. i flip a bird and give em my ,,evil eye,, lol, and they back off
but i guess its easier being glam as girl, than being a guy whos glam. i mean noone can call me a fag or laugh cuz of the tight jeans and make up. but damn, you need to have balls to look like that, thats why u guys are so sexy to me!
anybody remember the quote from ,,the dirt,,? just because we wear make up doesnt mean we cant kick your fucking ass! YEAHHHHH

This happens to me alot at my school. I get called almost every dirty thing in the book (haha) ...If you have have the looks that kill, don't be afraid to show it off! Don't give a shit about what other people say It's better to be hated for who you are than to be liked for who you arn't --I agree with everyone else, just stand up for your self and don't take any shit. I'm really shy & quiet at school, but I have the guts to tell them to fuck off.

Why am I not getting notifications on this? Oh, well...
Amyway, glam dudez got slammed back in the '80s, too. They were pretty rare even back then--ever notice there aren't any glammers in Donnie Darko, which is set in the '80s, or even in the movies actually made back then? Kids These Days just don't even know how conservative they are, even the otherwise liberal ones. "Drag"? People should know the difference by now. "Gay"? That cuts close, because I luv my hot spandex glam boyz (not that I ever get any, mind you)--I just WISH it were true. Something tells me I'm not alone, but if the closet has a closet, that's where all the gay glammerz are.
@Glam As Fuck: It's hard to stand up for yourself when there's no "network", like there is now. But then, I was a wuss and wouldn't even stand up to my parents about my hair (I have OLD, conservative parents)... What are you gonns do? You can't beat them all up.
BTW, I own an Ed Hardy scarf, myself--lots of those things are actually pretty easy to work into a glam look. Just rip up that Affliction shirt or whatever like you'd rip up anything else.
The '77 punks would tell us that the term "rockstar" had already been disgraced, or else we wouldn't have this:

I have the same problem, although my school is full of chavs, deffanetly not posh snobby people and I'm really the only outsider. You should stick up for yourself, let them know you're not taking their shit. If they can't accept glam then kick their ass! Believe me they deserve it. They're ignorant arrogant people who need to understand if they're not going to accept it then they can go throw themselves off a cliff. Being a girl glammie is different, we don't get get the gay or faggot comments although I have been a dyke on a few occassions. I've also been called a goth and emo... Tbh I've no idea what they're talking about. Keep your chin up dude and go kick some ass!!

Just suggest that they go play a nice game of "Hide and Go Fuck Yourself."

yeah i would kick there ass but my school will suspend me for 5 days if i do that hahaha

I used to get picked on all the time because I'm very different from all the other prudes that I go to school with. I learned to deal with it, and eventually, a lot of the assholes that didn't like the way I looked learned to like me because once they learned to accept that my look isn't going anywhere, and the only reason I was a nasty bitch to them was because the don't appreciate individuality!
Fuck the haters! They can always kiss my ass, because I never give them the time of day! Teachers used to get involved which really pissed me off! I always have fucking huge hair, no one else at my school does their hair quite like me, and I'm sorta thankful for that, cause I fucking love sticking out from the crowd, I love being different, and sure I get stares but no big deal, people just aren't used to seeing huge blonde haired glam chicks walking around, especially where I live haha! There was this teacher that dealt with a student that sat behind me in a class, and this little prick complained that he couldn't see past my hair! Wow! You don't hear that everyday, so I was obviously told to move, now I just sit at the back, cause people are ignorant lol!
I can't even shop without getting rude comments about my look, alot of people love to snicker at my rad cowboy boots, which are covered in scarfs, chains, and whatnot! Alot of prissy assholes love to make the comments so obvious, they talk louder, and one time I just walked right past those bitches and was all like "Wow, you bitches are so sneaky talking about me, talk louder next time and I'll deck you in the mouth!" Fuck, did those little snots shut up!
You know though, thats life, this is my life, I love looking like an 80s glamster, and I'm gunna be like this for a long time, love me or hate me right? More people to piss off later down the line cause they hate me, or get really close with those who share the same looks as me!

I havent looked but if your in the usa alot of school districts look at this as a violation of your civil rights being razzed because of how you dress. Id tell the dude to lay off you, if he dosent, tell someone in charge, if it continues and bugs you, go up the chain of command. crap like that is looked upon as being bullied. You are who you are. Your civil rights are being attacked by the idiot. If your chool refuses to act on it, tell them youll take legal action. Even if you wont. Put the fear of the law into them. No school district wants to change a lawsuit. OR dare to be Different and live with it. I cant tell you how many times I was kicked out of English class or Government class back in the middle to late 1980s for wearing rock/metal shirts to class. If you thinbk about your sitsuation, its no different then razzing someone for being gay or lesbian, or being a transgender. You dont have to put up with it if you dont want to.

Well when someone tells me this kind of things, most of the times i try to ignore them, but when i get really pissed off i just answer like vince neil said once "just because i were lipstick, it doesn't mean i can't kick your ass" and then i actually do it...
Posted 1 year ago # -
Cause your different, You have the balls to do something thats against the grain of things. Though with me, many people including some of the friends of people who made fun of me or ragged on me, always were like "even though i don't get the rockstar/glam rock/80s thing your doing, I give you props for being yourself or having the balls" Im sure many of those who just don't know or get it, weather they admit it or not, think in their head that you are a true individual and say that guy/girl has balls.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Someone once told that I dress like a came out from the 80's. So, some people know... The rest of the idiots just stare.
My nasty reputation takes me everywhere.
Posted 1 year ago # -
people like this in todays world really piss me off, they all look the same and it's great to go out looking different and glam
these people think rap music and everything pro-modern is better then glam and retro stuff, so thats enough to know they are complete morons

I have always gotten a lot of crap too. I used to kick their asses though. I remember when just wearing a concert T-shirt and having long hair could get your called a fag and I got my ass kicked almost every day and it didn't help I was a band nerd carrying my instrument to school.

Confident people are always attacked by ordinary fucks in some way;just ignore them, and kick their Abercrombie-wearing asses if it's needed.Although I'm in high school now,I don't have to deal with this shit as I'm considered as "the cool guy",who has long hair, smokes, and sings in a rock band. You know;the one you shouldn't hang out with.
Anyway, the point is:be who you really are, don't take shit from anybody, and find an accepting crowd. That's all it fucking is."Can't you see me standin' here I got my back against the record machine..."Posted 11 months ago # -
You just have to stick up your middle fingers and say "FUCK YOU". Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about ignorant people, especially the brainwashed, rich ones. We just have to be/act happy and ignore them. I'm sure that would piss them off and be too much fun

They are all just jealous that they don't have magnificant hair

Today I decided to wear a bandanna to school. Everyone thought I was in a gang :/. I personally think gangas are stupid, especially the ones that do nothing but stand on the street corner, smoking, listening to Crap music, with their pants around their ankles (God, I want that trend to DIE!)
Posted 7 months ago # -
actaully guitar geek i think less a trend and more of a giant loser convention bahahaha....there like "hey look us at were cool cause we wear r pnats down around our ass and carry guns"...pfffttt !...fuck off losers
