I haven't let ANYBODY cut a hair on my head since before 9/11.And I trim my own bangs.

I crimp and tease the crap outa my hair for any clubbing or shoots.I keep my dye, but that's pretty damn baked into my hair so maintanance is just roots each month or whenever I feel like it.(Less if I'm swimming a lot in the ocean).

When I lived in San Francisco it was so foggy/humid I tied my hair back a lot....but sometimes I still straightened it with the crimper and....once even used some different purple magick markers to touchup my hair (you had to be there, there was a party going on).

At the very least I might not straighten it,I just let it hang, its maybe 4 inches from waist level?

Sometimes I brush the tease out before bed and start over next morning. It looks fresh and new that way.But takes time.*sigh*

I did that for Rock Star.

But in the 80s I was lazy,I was livin the life,ya know.I'd do it once a week and just keep teazing up flat spots, grabbin the Aqua Net,whatever.

I've done that before! And one time I used hot pink hairspray and black permanent marker.. I think it's obvious that the pen is now completely destroyed, lol. Coloured hairspray comes off onto everything. When I went to bed without washing it out, my pillow was all pink. I had pink nails from scratching my head at one point. and, of course, a bit of pink on the collar of my WHITE shirt. But that's what I get for not using a towel.
Oh and I think there are still pink spots here and there in my bathroom.

Long hair? Yeah, no question. Guys with long hair are sexy as hell. And BTW if he wanted to Steve Tyler could pull off the long hair look he had in the '70s.

Wanna know about something stupid I did?

Back in...1987....I remember cuz I got my first apartment in Hollywood (I was living everywhere up until then)....I had a bunch of roommates in a so-called "single" apartment, but I made my own little bedroom for privacy out of a walkin closet...lol....anyway one nite I was dying my hair but did not bother washing it out before going to the Rainbow....

So I went to the 'bow, had a *really great time*....know what I mean?

Next morning my "friend" and I woke up...purple EVERYfucking where.....my face, the sheets,oh gawds.....it was embarrassing and still funny as helll..so I learned a valuable lesson....ALWAYS rinse and wash out the dye DO NOT just style with it....I bet he still talks about that...lol....I remember his name still ;-)

My avatar photo isn't really a good indicator; my hair's usually a lot curlier, which I don't really like because it keeps me from the style I really want. It's only been a few years that I've known I needed a really deep bang section to get the look I wanted; no one who cut my hair ever even explained that much to me. I can have a good style if I part my hair on the side, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for.

My hair is naturally huge. I fought it for years but nowadays I just tend to let it go wild. I'd kinda like to have it cut kinda shorter and spiky and neo-mullety (think Sixx or Vince Noir  ) but I'm too poor to be able to justify spending shitloads on a cut...

The last time I washed my hair I got it real straight with the blowdryer.I didn't need to crimp it.Then again I didn't have anywhere to go and its been rainy a lot.So I just wore makeup. If my hair gets slightly wet it just gets wavy again.

One way I also get my hair big without a LOT of teasing is I blow dry then crimp it then I put my hair up in a ponytail, spray it, leave it a few hours or overnight. When I take it down its still got lots of volume.I often do that if the weathers bad and I gotta have great hair for something...

Here's a pic of my natural hair (from back when I was 13 and didn't wear makeup.. bleh)

The only thing unnatural is the black dye, aside from that it's all just my normal hair, without anything done to it. This was during summer, check out the sunburn! Christ..

SICK THING I dig your shirt!!!!!!!!!

I think maybe I tore up any pics I found without makeup......well not baby pictures my Mom has....

I was a redhead....theres not much worse than growing up a redhead IMO....I started bleaching it in high school!

So I know about sunburn....I can't go for a swim until after 5 pm even with loads of sunblock :-(

I remember when I first bought that shirt thinking how displeased my mother would be, but no, when she saw it she decided to be a smartass and say "Kiss my donkey?"
And that's too bad about your undies.. I'd be really pissed off if that happened to me.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE big hair! I have a hard time getting mine big though. I blowdry it a lot and use a ton of hairspray but I think you have to have a certain type of hair to get it really big. Ahh well, I'll never give up on my hair. I want to be 60 and still have huge hair! (Not that I was even around in the 80s, but HEY its comin back!)

Hey....just remember....getting older is not "optional"......considering the alternative....but LOOKING older....well ya just don't have to....its a force of the Will.....and taking the time for good skincare and avoiding the sun ;-)

Theres no law stating ya hafta stop representing rocknroll...or I'd be in jail already :D

GlamRose....do you tease your hair at all? That really helps to make it big....and when I help others with their hair, one thing I've noticed is that if their hair has been colour treated it seems to stay big longer....

I tease my hair somewhat, but I probably should do it more. I also have colored hair. I'll probably just grow it out and get it cut again because for the past few months, I have been trying to cut it myself. Not a good idea, hahaha.

I have mad split ends but I think that helps it get charged up even easier.I just don't get it cut, except I trim my bangs.

The reason why one side is longer than the other is because my purse straps catch hair so some breaks off.

I must be lazy this month. My roots are out far,but nobody here in AC is worth impressing with a fresh dye job and I can't find a club to go to for socializing so, my warpaint is all I'm treating "my" public too *smirk* LMAO...

Here is the way I get my hair to stay up for days...

First, wash your hair thoroughly using a good volumising shampoo+conditioner.

Then dry it off with a hairdryer with your head over your knees so your hair hangs down (I don't know why, but this makes it alot easier for styling)

Crimp your roots if you've got a crimper, this will add volume to your hair.

Apply hairspray to your hairbrush/comb (I use AquaNet)

Back comb along the top, so that the overall top layer of your hair is shooting straight up/out

Straighten the ends of your hair on the top, and straighten the lengthier bits which are going over your shoulders.

Add lots and lots and fucking LOTS of hairspray.

    Result? Buff hair.
