I'm kinda jealous of peoples tattoos. But I know that if I got certain ones I wanted, women are judged unfairly by men on tattoos....not fair.....say I got a rock start man inked on me....(like I fantasized of doing since I was in my teens) lotsa men don't like to see images of men and to me thats BOGUS prejudice. And although intellectually I don't care what people think,I do what I want *and pay the price, its lonely being an individual* but for the gigs I get, my piercings are okay but tattoos are a pain in the backside to paint over.

I wanted zebra stripes on my wrists, and Paul Stanley's NONWHITEFACE on my arm and some 9/11 political images.Yup people would LOVE me *smirk*

I have a rose too, but mine is a bud and it's on my left ankle. Got it when I was seventeen, my GF and I woke up one morning and decided to get tattooed. I've never regretted it, but haven't had any more either (that's a lie, I have the K records logo in a secret place, because K Cobain died)... quite lucky really, I'd've ended up a walking billboard, covered in band logos and lyrics.

"Personally monsieur," said Poirot, "I don't give le fuck."

You shouldn't talk to me. Find better company. There's better people to know. You'll only end up like Rimbaud. Get shot by Verlaine...

"i think it can get a little addictive...my sister has 8, and she keeps saying that the one she'll have just had is her last one...next time i could frighten her though...that'll get her to stop. haha..actually no, cos she'll get me back."
    - AniseedRock22350

Your dead right. It can be very addictive. I always disliked tattoos, mainly because most of them I saw when I was a kid were a horrible greeny blue colour and featureless. Later they became a bit more artistic, but I still wasn't won over by them, and even less so when my bro and my cousin got a load when they were both in the Army.

A few years ago however, I finally decided that I would get just the one tattoo and its the badge of the football club that I support which is Middlesbrough. Its basically a lion rampant in red with the initials MFC below at the top of my left arm.

I must admit I was apprehensive about the pain I thought I was going to endure, but in reality I found there was bugger all. Once I got the tattoo though, I couldn't stop myself from showing it off to everyone and I really had to hold myself back from getting another one straight away. I could very easily have succumbed and got another one, and then probably another and another, but thankfully I didn't.

These days I believe that one or two tattoos is nice as long as they are tasteful, but they start to look tacky the more you get or the bigger they are. Just my opinion like.

I have (so far) 18 tattoos. My back is 'reserved' for Clive Barker's art from his books Abarat. My calves have been his canvas where he drew on me directly (so I have original - one of a kind - art on me of his) There's only two you won't see - unless you buy me dinner *cough* Here's a few of them:

    miss fierce

    wrist

    wrist 2

    left calf

    right calf

    spine

    boy

    back

I have one on my leg.
I was going to get the GNR logo,
but then when I got into the tattoo chair,
I decided against it, in fear. Haha.
I was 14 by the way! (So this is a pretty old picture.)

For my next tattoo, I want one of the tattoos that Axl Rose has. It's like a heart with wings.

recently had one done, it's a wolf bursting through my bio-mech chest. Getting it coloured on Thursday :D

Since having it done, people now ask my advice as if I'm some kind of expert

The only thing I say is to leave it a year, and if you still like the design and want it done then do it. We're talking about the rest of your life, so a year is nothing 8)

I always get people asking if mine is real, due to the white ink used on the eyes and teeth, and quality of the shading.

As if I'd get a fake fucking tattoo.

I have an even dozen, Kiss solo faces on my hip (4 1/2 hours), Kiss logo on ankle,
dream catcher on other hip, Girl Scout logo on other ankle (been a leader for 17 years), tigar lilly on breast (ouch), tribal around belly button, rattle snake tail armband, heartbreaker armband, and on my back I've got a dragon with a Chinese sun, a budda, a Space Ace tribal piece, and a swag of ivy. They are addicting!

haha. I'm only sixteen, and i've always wanted that tatoo. And being too young to get it done professionally, right before i got into highschool, my friend and i got the bright idea to do it ourselves!! It took a few painful days with a hot safety pin lol. My parents busted us before we ever got ink into them though. Unfortunately I had to put neosporin on it (BUMMER!) so u can't even see it anymore.
    Here's a few days after

The shine is the neosporin hahaha. My friends left hers alone and it actually looks really good as a scar, wish i had a pic.

A hot safety pin, over a few days?
That's not how you make a tattoo..that's how you do branding.
The ink has to be on the needle to make a tattoo, you don't add it later..but it's best to get it done professionally anyway...I speak from experience there.

And that looks like I was being snotty(tired old man)..
I should mention that my first tattoo was done with a razor dipped in india ink.
For whatever reason, when I was 15 it seemed "tougher" to use a razor than a needle.
It worked though, and it's still there, although I modified it from a cross to an alchemical symbol for brimstone a few years later.
