ok so basically I've been wanting to grow my hair long and get any kind of glam/ hair metal look out of it. but it's like...curly. and not slash or firehouse curly either, it might as well be a jew fro haha im not jewish but apparently italians have hair like that too.
lately i've been kind of straightening it and it looks pretty good when i do but i heard that's bad for your hair and sometimes its just a pain, so i was wondering if there's an easier way to get that look.
any help is great haha im kind of new to the site but i love it, it's exactly what i've been trying to find haha thanks in advance

You have to just let it grow. I've been through it, everyone does with cury hair, but when it gets long it will look better and girls wont leave your hair alone hah.

    Hey! Welcome to the site.
I had this problem - I had really curly hair, like proper springs. Its not fun!

Straightening doesn't damage your hair, thats just a muth, I'll tell you that. I've got the healthiest hair out of anyone I know, and I've been straighting it for years. :D

Basically, keep at it. I know its annoying, but you'll get used to it eventually, it'll come as second nature. If your sister or mother or whoever could do it for you sometimes? Might ease the pain, lol.

Anyway, the thing is, when you straighten it for long enough, consistently, after a while it'll just grow straight. Okay, its still a bit curly, usually at the ends, but thats fine if its long enough - or if you suit it.

Another option is getting it permed. Yeah, that sounds crazy, cos perms make it curly, but you can actually get it permed straight. Thats something I found off this website, actually!!

Or, you can just let it grow, as our Sam says.
But thats too slow for me!!

My hair never was curly,so I can't help ya on this one.I did however go thru that horrible horrible stage of hair growth where u just look retarded.and there's nothing u can really do about it.u just gotta stick it out.ull feel 10 times better once u get it looking good tho.ull feel like u accomplished a hell of a lot.but its great to see J Dix get some love on here, haha.he's so underrated.when I first started to grow my hair out,I had erik turner's look in mind.not in this pic tho.in another pic I have of them, his hair looks 10 times more badass

If you think your hair is going to get damaged, use some heat defense shampoo or something. I use VO5 for frizzy/heat damaged hair, which is the pink bottle, and that seems to do the trick!
