"I started using bronzer. One day my daughter asked me "Mom, do you realize you look like an oompa-loompa?" I never had such a laugh. I don't use bronzer anymore....I don't think the "oompa-loompa" look does it for me.

You're funny. Thanks for the laugh and don't put on too much glitter on New Years, we don't want you to get taken away or anything. LOL

i made myself orange once...but that was the theme i was going for...well until my mum told me to and i quote "go back up those stairs and wipe those 10 layers of shit of your face"...i said, naively at the time...it was June, and i had only just become 18...and if you know me, that is a good excuse..."i'm a glitter kid...i'm supposed to look over the top"...needless to say i got so worked up i washed most off with my tears...but i learnt how to make it look better since...no more orange...well, non-intentional orange anyway. i can't believe how much has happened since June...i knew none of you in June, even Syndrome!

Liquid Concealer around the eyes (insomniac) and a dabble where needed. Liquid/Powder (dries as powder) over top that.

Eye shadows its a cream powder (dries as powder) that I can put on w/a blush brush.

Pen actually, its a soft tipped type, liquid only if needed and rare (freaking hurts more than mascara in the peepers).

    Blush: seldom

Must have, concealer and liner, duh!

easily the best type of makeup is no makeup. and ladies and gentlemen, if do are wearing makeup, just put a little bit on. natural beauty is the best. having 3 inches of makeup coming off your face is not attractive. as a matter of fact..it makes you look like a drag nightmare... oh wait.. i forgot this is in fact a glam forum..but even the glamsters themselves got over that shit.

my mum told me today that i've gone over the top with the eye shadow...i told her that was the point...she told me i looked like a clown...i said "no, because i find clowns scary...anyway it got me through the supermarket quicker, because everybody moved out the way"...so even extreme can be a good thing...i don't think she understands glam too well...being a Roller at the time and all.

theres a difference between makeup and drag. find me one artist who had all their makeup goin on back in their day and still wears it. yeah they did get over it. why anyone would want to look like a monkeys ass all day everyday is beyond me. hell i get all glammed out when i go see bands. im talking about people that have two tons of makeup on at all times.

To answer the question of "...makeup goin on back in their day and still wears it."
    KISS
    MOTLEY CRUE
    TWISTED SISTER
ALICE COOPER are a few that come to mind, but of course nobody wears it 24/7. It's all about the image and the 'shock' value. It's not about beauty.

Fallen Angel33, your comments are quite valid if you're talking about a day at the office, going out to do the groceries, or hanging out at the mall, but you have to remember you ARE on a glam rock forum, so really to even suggest to people on this forum that put only 'a little bit on' sounds to me like you're out of touch with the whole concept...

okay. no one puts it on the way they used to. im completely in touch with the whole concept of the shock value... hence the point i made when i said yea.. i pput it on when i go to shows and shit.. im talkign about just a night out with a fuck load of excessive makeup on...

nobody here is required to appreciate anyone else, or even agree with them. i have my own opinions and for me.. i think the effort and time it takes to put and keep on 2 tons of makeup to look like the butt end of a donkey is not worth it. kay thanks. leathur, do what makes you happy. my opinion doesnt count and nobody elses should either. but that doesnt mean we cant express it

i like to scare the people at the supermarket...it's fun...and you get shopping done quicker because they move out of your way...and, at school; the teachers avoid asking you questions...so less thinking required, considering glam is on my mind all day...i really think they should have glam schools...Lesson 1: Make up Class, Lesson 2: Glam Appreciation, Lesson 3&4: Instrument Class, etc...that would be cool...anyway back on track...since i don't get all that much opportunity to go to gigs, i rely on dressing glam'd up on most normal days.

..........im glad to hear you dont like thinking. after all.. glam is everything and thinking doesnt matter...sense the sarcasm? =] just saying. you dont have to get all glam'd up all the time to truely love and appreciate the music. i think you want more attention than you think you do. cuz otherwise... i personally dont get why you'd need to put so much effort into being glam to go to the supermarket.... its not all about the image you portray.

i know...but this is a make up thread, and therefore is about the way you look...the way i see it the five million other threads that say 'Cinderella or Ratt' etc are the ones to discuss music on.

You guys say you wear 'over the top make-up'...but what exactly do you mean by that? Bright colours? This girl here needs some ideas! :D

I just use eyeliner mostly...But I've run out, so I had to switch to eyeshadow around my eyes - not a whole load though, just so that it looks like eyeliner - in different colours.

On 'special occasions' I usually break out the glitter and lipstick...I'm not confident enough yet to go further :( Plus, I've run out of ideas.

you generally learn from experience...as far as confidence goes...if you'd come to me in June when i turned 18...before i knew anybody on here and said to me "in 3 months not only will you be talking to people with similar music interest as you, but you will be wearing make up in all shades and styles to walk down the street"...i would have said "get the hell outta here..that's not possible, and i wouldn't have the confidence"...but here i am, glamming myself up just to go to the supermarket or to school.
and the greatest thing about Glam and Make up is that you get to create your own style...from copying the bands you admire and love to experimenting in your bedroom on a night...and trust me, you'll soon learn what you feel comfortable in.

and as for what people may think...generally don't give a shit about them...in the words of Argent- "Hold Your Head Up High"...and be proud to be a glitter kid glammed up to the nines...i have a saying; 'if you don't feel stupid, you don't look stupid'...and trust me..with this forum, confidence grows...i'm living proof. xx
