I'm a glam rock chick, i collect vinyl, and love nothing more than some good Hanoi Rocks, Poison, Crue, Diamond Rexx, or other delightful glam metal... but I dress and look a bit more retro/pinup-y because I just happen to have been cursed with a face and body that look like I belong in the 50's.

Any suggestions for glamming this up:

Check this out! I dare you to try this, but don't blame me if your hair fucks up afterwards.

BTW - I got in shit after editing your post as my girlfriend found your pics in her history list and thought the worst! - I had to explain that I was just fixing a thread on this forum - Nevermind...

If you wanna add pics then use the IMG option (YOU MAY HAVE TO SELECT IT TWICE) and paste the full url into the box provided.

Did backcombing your hair work for you?

Being glam is all about personal preference, You could spend all day coping your favourite bands or artists, Just do what you feel comfortable with.

I would say your look is more goth than glam??? but I do tend to use 80s Cinderella as a glam look reference and that is quite extreme.

I based my look from 80s Skid Row, black 501 or leather jeans, copper bullet belt, silver bangles, black leather jacket/cowboy boots and maybe a purple lace shirt. I had a pair of skin tight black jeans that had been tied in knots and had white paint splattered on them. I used to buy my stuff mail order or from carnaby street in London.

I remember buying double size cans of hair spray and even had my hair tight permed as is was nearly down to my arse!!!

Plus I think that girls can get away with much more...

I'm boring now a days, just jeans and shirt man.

You look good to me. I can see what you mean by the 50's pinup look but all you have to do is find some ripped clothes, tease up the hair add some more chains and toss on a little leather on and your glammy as hell. You tube chick looks killer too.

I love it! Your very glam indeed :D You've got that kind of classy-trashy type thing, too, which glamsters invented, haha.

What do you do then, 'for a show'?

You look plenty glam to me. Glam is attitude not really a style. The style just comes from the love of the music. If you love the music then you're glam. You should never "try" to be glam, you should only try to be yourself. That's true glam. And we will suppost you all the way!

By the way, I fucking love your hair. Curls are awesome on a woman so never ever change that!

This is definately good advice ^^
I used to try to look glam, and it always looked weird and overdone, unnatural-like. And then I realised, why should I have to try? I'm a Glam Rocker, I dont need clothes to proove it! =D

I now just buy and customise clothes and stuff I think are cool, rather than thinking about what'll look Glam :P It looks Glam anyway, haha.

Here here I'll second you on that. I don't wear my motley crue tshirts every day. I don't wear my Cowboy boots ever day. I dont back comb my hair every day. I love my baggy jeans just as much. Or long tshirt dresses and pumps just as much. NOONE needs to prove anything. Good call Jack :)

Heh, it's not about proving anything, I adore 80s glam rock fashion (well duh) but I fear I have trouble pulling it off in a way that looks appealing (as my #1 goal is always get backstage hehe) as for my hair, curls are anything but natural to me, it takes me an hour in hot rollers to get em' but I think the effect is nice when I do it

Glam isn't about looking appealing. And trying to get backstage. You should aim to be ON the stage. Not pander to rockstars and wannabes

Yeah, although, your fully entitled to want to look appealing and get backstage, Glam or not, hahaha...

But yeah, theres a point like. I mean, you can say you dont need to try to be Glam Rock but if you like the style you might as well take an interest in it, otherwise no one would look Glam!! But you dont have to :P
