I had my fun when I was a teenager. I spent my college / uni money of a 1966 Pontiac GTO convertable. It was fun and FAST. That fuel gulping 389 Cubic inch, V-8, the three 2 barrel carburator motor with posi-traction and a 4-speed stick shift got me into lots of trouble. It was just too much car for me. When I was 18 I was racing against another kids 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle , I skidded and wrapped my Pontiac around a tree and over a fire hydrant. At that point I figured muscle cars arent for me. That was back in the days when these cars were everywhere and could be bought cheap, I think I got mine for about $2000, spent my college/uni savings on it. It was nice, bucket seats, air conditioning ....

Today I have a 1962 Buick Skylark. Its not a muscle car but I still get looks in it everywhere I go. Old American Iron like this is getting pricey.

I loooooove a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302. But also like a Ford Torino Cobra and a '69 camaro.
But since i live in holland... and all the roads and parking spaces are so damn small for european cars i'm forced to a smaller american. Else i would also love an impala or a '64/'67 lincoln continental with suicides or a buick riviera.

Anyway... currently driving in a peugeot 405. It's not the most beautifull car in the world but it's cheap and i gets me where i wanna go. There will be a time that i'll drive a '69 or '70 mustang.

Same problem all through Europe if you live in a city :|
went for a drive across Europe last year in a VW T25/T3 and parking that behemoth of a car in cities like Paris or London was not an easy task

Youd be surprized how many European brokers come out here to California to the car shows and cruises hunting for these cars that people are selling. California dosent get the snow or road salt that rusts cars out. They buy these things, then off to New York and off to Europe with them to some buyer there. I guess back when communism was the law, these cars werent aviable so now the europeans pay big money for american cars. Some guy called Hans came up to me at one of these gatherings and offered me 10,000 USD for my car. I turned him away, my heart just wasnt in it. Ive had it going on 8 years ... I just couldnt sell it knowing its going to get shipped off the American roads. But the money was very tempting.

Yeah, the american cars are veeeeerrry expensive here. Last week there was a burned out mustang on the second hand sale for 6000 euro's!! All burned out, no interieur, no engine wiring etc etc, whole rebuild project.
But when you get it from california you have a verry nice looking mustang for 5000 euro's including shipping.
In holland there aren't much american cars, but in belgium and germany there are quiet much.

Nice olds there!! don't like the collor but its looks fucking awesome. Wish i could drive a car like that.... but it's so hard here in europe.
The cars also are way too expensive and almost all american cars you find here in europe will be a moneypit.

Ebay ! I find more stuff there for sale for older rides there. Theres dozens of forums with tech help and people who will sell or swap parts if you need anything.

My backyard is full of junk ill never need. Old motors, radiators, door panels, seat kits, body trim, door handles, steering wheels ... all sorts of stuff ill never use. .Like ill ever need the grill or fender for a 1968 Camero ..... From every car ive ever owned. On that off chance ill need it. I sell the car and am left with a shed of parts for it. One day ill go out there and snap pics of the crap and ebay it all off.

Im in the process of selling the Monte Carlo. I got it for next to nothing and now im trying to make a few dollars on it. Ill be buried in the Buick. Thats the love of my life

I'm probably gonna go with the Volvo Amazone. It's a nice european car to make a retro looking rod out of it.
