Okay, I know that there is an open thread on Warrant and on Jani Lane, but, this iz my daughter Dani'z story. She iz only 5 and doesn't type sentencez real well yet, so I thought I'd tell it for her.
My daughter'z favorite saying iz "Jani Lane Rocks!" She haz stolen my CDz and my picz of him. I am friendz with hiz lady, and she had Jani send her some CDz of her own, a DVD, a personally signed pic with her name on it, and one of hiz "Back Down To One" teez. She waz in "Heaven" over this. We had made planz to attend the Amarillo concert to see Warrant and Cinderella. However, with Tom Keifer'z illness, that got cancelled.
We had some personal issuez, and were not going to get to go to Rocklahoma either. (That waz our alternate plan) We got the newz on Tuesday before their Saturday performance that Dani would get to go. Jani had us put on their VIP list and giving us back stage passez. There waz a bit of confusion with the ticketz, and after 6 hourz of driving to get there, my daughter waz broken hearted because she thought she wouldn't get to see or meet Jani. I ended up back and forth on the cell with Jani'z lady and the tour manager getting thingz straightened out. We got in to the show, and people were having heat stroke right and left. So, I sent her back to the hotel after a couple of hourz with her aunt Vicki. They were planning to come back after it cooled off a bit. Before they got back, the stormz hit. Stagez were blown away, and chaos ensued. She waz really scared when they showed back up and wanted to be with me. There waz another front coming trough from the storm, so, I talked to her and we decided that safety waz the firt concern. I had waited over 18 yearz to see Warrant again, but, she had to come first. I had sent a text message before my phone died to Jani'z lady to let her know what waz going on. She assured me that Dani would get to meet Jani. Well, we didn't get to. We went to the hotel and she cried about it. The next morning, I found the number and called them. I waz sure that they would be asleep, but I gave them my mom'z cell number so I could let them know that it waz my fault and what waz going on.
We began the drive home and Dani waz so upset about thingz. She had been looking forward to this for over 2 monthz. She finally calmed down about 2 hourz into the drive home. At that point, my mom'z cell rang. It waz Sheila and she wanted to know if Dani waz available to talk on the phone. I told her yes, and she said great, Jani wantz to talk with her. I gave her the phone, and he talked with her for about 10 minutez. It completely made her day! She ask him where he waz yesterday cause she waz supposed to get to meet him. I didn't hear the other side of the conversation, but she finally got to tell him that he rocked! She then handed me the phone. . . . Jani appologized for all of the confusion and promised that she would get to meet him at a concert. She would get the red carpet treatment from him. Even if it never happenz, Jani Lane made my daughter'z dream come true. She will alwayz have that memory, and I am truly awestruck that he took the time to do that for her. I alwayz held Jani in respect for his writing, playing, and singing ability. I didn't know much about him personally, but now I can say this with full confidence -- He iz a truly honerable man. I don't care what anyone else haz to say, I will defend him to my dying day.
