We all know that grunge caused the downfall of glam, but isn't this ironic? The video was taken in 1993/4-ish...

well, I think it's ironic because if grunge fans hated glam (glam metal, to be specific), why would Kurt Cobain cover a glam song? (incase you don't know, "The Man Who Sold the World" is a song by David Bowie.) And incase you're wondering, I don't hate Grunge, or any music genre for that matter.

Well, The Man Who Sold The World is far from Hair Metal though, and Kurt was into stuff much closer musically to Hair Metal than that, Toys in The Attic was one of his favorite albums I believe. He was a fan of plenty of Glam stuff like Sweet, Queen, and The Stooges too.

Grunge choked on its own musical vomit and burned out in two years time, but it spawned such crap bands as Korn, and a whole crop of nu metal bands, which most dropped off the face of the earth. What music is remembered, sells out stadiums and festivals? Glam rock and Metal! I don't see a Grungelahoma anywhere, do you? I am not saying I hated all Grunge, I actually liked some of it but as a whole it was just a bunch of whiney, poseur, crap. I liked Nirvana, too bad if you don't like me because of that but most of those bands just sucked.
